So when Songstone of <Terror Australis> on Korgath found herself in an inky-black part of Blackrock Depths, she pulled out a pair of torches. Given the garishness of pre-60 clothing, the glowing enchants and the fluorescentness of night elf/draenei skin, Songstone and her companions quickly became visible. And in that pose, they look like some kind of campy crime-fighting team. Ladies, I have a mission for you -- get out of BRD and never come back.

I must confess that due to my habit of playing WoW with the sound turned off, I've never actually heard the music of Level 10 60 70 80 Elite Tauren Chieftain. In case you didn't know, L70ETC is a group of Blizzard employees who recorded some Blizzard-property-related songs and are now represented in-game as a Horde hair metal band. Lead singer Samuro is actually art director Sam Didier; bassist Mai'Kyl is Blizzard president Mike Morhaime; and so on and so forth. Vindonnus of Stormreaver took this particular pic of Chief Thunder-Skins (aka longtime Blizzardite Alan Dabiri) as the band played their hourly show at the World's End Tavern in Shattrath City.

After the 2.3 implementation of a quest and some tailoring patterns that create a full Mariachi outfit, we have been besieged by more pictures of sombrero-clad drunks than the producers of Girls Gone Wild: Spring Break. This particular selection showcases a sleeping dwarf (Lockdanon), an overly alert draenei (Soba), and two bored, disguised blood elves (human Gerras and draenei picture-taker Jhana), all of <smug lyfe> on Sen'jin. You'd think that dressing up as a blood elf would be considered a capital crime among draenei, but apparently not. Or perhaps it's just too hot a day to die.

We've seen more than enough shots of the swirling sky above the Bone Wastes, but this one is differently. Apparently, Outland is now under aerial attack by a team of Flying Spaghetti Monsters. The overly large meatballs, the dangling pasta -- it all makes sense! Quickly, bow to His Noodly Appendage! In actuality, this is just a picture of the sky near a dead clefthoof. The FSMs are actually close-ups of flies -- or so Ganya of <The Authority> on Jaedenar-EU would have you believe.

Our non-combat pets have been abused for too long. They've been starved, drowned, trampled, left in banks for years, and shoved into a backpack with angry, incontinent nightsabers. Now, at last, they shall have their revenge. After gorging himself on Papa Hummel's Old-Fashioned Pet Biscuits and slipping some Noggenfogger Elixir into his master's evening tea, this formerly servile Sinister Squashling had Dunamus of Kul Tiras begging for his pathetic life. Feed me, Seymour!

This picture/wallpaper was sent to Around Azeroth by Mike two months ago. Due to our ongoing battle over leaked Alpha information, all I could do is shake my head and give it a new home as my desktop background. But now that we can post Wrath info, I can share the beauty of Crystalsong Forest with everyone. Don't the healing crystals just ease all the pain of not getting a beta invite? Yeah ... they don't help a bit. Nice to look at, though.

The tauren druid Bufalo of Area 52 sent in many, many screenshots, and enough of them featured him wearing a Bloodsail Admiral's Hat that I began to wonder if he ever took it off. Then I Armoried him and found him completely naked except for a Time-Lost Figurine and a Piccolo of the Flaming Fire, which is infinitely more disturbing. In this picture, a thankfully clothed Bufalo leads a team of Hordies on triplicate Raven Lord mounts. Bufalo suggests that they're forming a new city guard, in which cast I have some serious questions for whoever's providing the uniforms.

Because I am a Bad Person, I visited the Caverns of Time long before the Burning Crusade ever came out. In fact, I even brought a friendly warlock and offered to summon guildmates for guided tours. One of our tourists, a well-geared mage, decided it would be a great idea to jump off over the side into the endless void. We didn't hear much from him about the scenery, aside from "OMG SUMMON ME QUICK", but I suspect his character's last sight before death was something like this. (And if you think sneaking into the Caverns is unethical, you do not even want to know what I did with the BC alpha ...)

Sikran from <Renaissance> of Sha'tar-EU got a nice, unimpeded view of the scenery when his game made the unilateral decision to remove the caverns and the characters, leaving only the sky. Was it a glitch, or yet another incidence of your video card on drugs?

Well, I really can't complain. Emily and I had seven good years together. Saw the whole continent, from Elwynn to Plaguelands, and raised a couple of beautiful cubs. That's more than a lot of folks get in this world. If only that leatherworking bastard hadn't ... sorry, sorry. I still get upset about it. He's long dead now, of course, and I've got a new place to live. Each of the cubs has their own room now. And at least I can see my Emily every day.

It looks like this Shadowsworn Enforcer is having some difficulty holding up her claymore. I guess that's what happens when your in-game model is based off a blow-up doll. Anyway, Raelivh of Bleeding Hollow was hanging around the Altar of Storms in Blasted Lands (the one near Lady Sevine), when he noticed that the high elf models there had not been updated to the new blood elf ones. From the looks of things, I think we can figure out why they changed the models to blood elves. They may be skinny and annoying, but at least they don't look like they came out of a PS1 game.

We've had more than enough arguments about the ethics and morality of multiboxing on this site, but there's one thing neither side can deny -- you can get some pretty cool screenshots. In this pic, the orc shaman Borg quintuplets of <Bloodfists> on Silvermoon are doing Nathanos' Ruse, and are taking advantage of their human disguises to indulge in the terrible, terrible human dances. What, another sunset pic? I say, nay! It's just Khazica of ... not even going to mention the guild name ... on Skywall. Khazica has discovered that when you use Flamestrike on the pillar between the bank and flight tower in Orgrimmar, you get a cool sun ray effect. This will be useful for people who like shiny things and/or are on a drug trip, which I believe encompasses about 96% of WoW players.

Man, that Cyrukh the Firelord is such a jerk. Geamo of <Twisted Knights> on Aszune-EU takes a flight all the way over to say hi, and Cyrukh just gets in his face. Geamo had a similar sad experience trying to talk to Golemagg, Landslide and Magmus. Those rock giants are clearly antisocial and deserve their constant attacks by raid groups. Luckily, they have good taste in accessories. That makes all the homicides worth it.

I've always been perplexed as to the state of personal hygiene in Azeroth. Aside from one zombie and that dwarf in Searing Gorge, no one ever needs to use the restroom, and I'm sure that the occasional moonwell isn't an adequate bathing facility. Our characters must be completely covered in fel orc blood, snake venom, and murloc slime by now. Luckily, Cheekz of Sporeggar-EU seems to have located a rare Azerothian sink -- the better to wipe off the dirty business of leveling as Horde. Just wait until you do the Tarren Mill apothecary quests, Cheekz. No amount of water will wash out the stain those leave on your soul.

As I've previously stated, Anduin Lothar is one of the few Alliance heroes I can really get behind. In this pic, taken by Dingomir of <Ramen> on Shattered Hand, Lothar's statue appears to be picking up where the fallen hero left off -- he's leading a charge into Blackrock Mountain. Astute loremasters will know that Lothar was the first guy to be ganked by a rogue in BRM. Now his statue sits in the middle of the Burning Steppes and aggravates the local orcs, who prefer ragged tents and spiky buildings to marble statues.
