Breakfast topic: Account count
I'm not sure how many World of Warcraft subscriptions are currently active. The popularity of the game skyrocketed and then seems to have leveled off. Player numbers have certainly been bolstered by the Recruit-a-Friend promotion. I'm not convinced that it has actually brought any new players into the game. I know several people who begun additional accounts under this new scheme, and a handful of players that have returned to the game. I'm sure there are some new rookies, but they're a fraction of the new accounts.
I'm working on my third account. My friend with recruitment benefits and I have been soaring through the levels. I was planning on starting a third account come Wrath anyway, but now seems like as good of a time as any.

One is enough, yes sometimes I wish I had two accounts to powerlevel myself, but I don't wanna pay the monthly fee twice.

www.dual-boxing.com is THE resource for multi-boxing btw, anyone thinking of trying it out should definitely check it out.
But please please please actually read some of the stickied threads/faqs before asking questions in the newcomer forum that you could have answered yourself with half a second of effort.

I know several people in real life and in game who have recruited people. As in, actually recruited, not the second account thing.

Two, mainly for the Zhevra mount. Triple exp is fun too.

I got my Zhevra mount by recruiting a RL friend, so I didn't have to pay for a second one.
Also, I'm on my third account now, but my other 2 have been inactive for a long time, and I have never had 2 up at the same time.

One. I'd like a second, but my lovely, sweet, darling girlfriend has explained that she'd tear out a few non-vital organs of mine if I grabbed one. :)

Have a buddy with 5 shammies, he gets reported daily. Somebody did it again last night while he was helping me in Nagrand (jumpatron in 2, woot - on a rogue).
I sent a tell to the guy saying Kaplan said it was OK, blizzard said it was OK....what do I get back? 'Whatever cheater' and ignored.
Guess some people don't like the idea of within the rules.

Allowed or not, 5x frost shock intagibs are cheap as hell.

I find it hilarious that you said "Kaplan says it's ok"
Shall we start a new poll on how many players even know who Jeff Kaplan is?

Some rules need to be changed.
I report multi-boxing when I see it, and will continue to do so until the day they change the policy or I quit the game and go to some newer MMO.

That is just incredibly stupid. It isn't against the rules so you are just wasting their time. I hope they ban you for spamming them with worthless reporting.

I recruited my roommate and he installed the game and stuff while I was at work. He was level 11 before I found out he was playing on a different server and a different faction. Since it took him so long to get to 11 I couldn't convince him to reroll a hordie on mine. Now he's in his 60's and wished he had rerolled but since he's put in so much time he still won't abandon the character to reroll. *sigh

You can transfer servers for $25. The price stinks for what I'm sure is an easy process, but I've done it with more than one character to play on a server with friends. It was worth it too, playing is much more fun when you have RL friends on your server with you.

Yeah, but the friend is on the other faction, too, Thrush.

I had two before but one was my friends account who had a priest on a PVP server so I could play with them. But I cancelled that one and when the refer a friend came out wanted a human pally to play with coworkers but my pally was a blood elf so I found it the perfect way to powerlevel another pally so I could transfer her to my main account when she dings 60.

Good, then you probably wouldn't mind paying for his then. ;)

To transfer between my accounts is just 25 dollars, compared to the speed I was leveling another pally with the triple XP to trying to grind one out the hard way I think its worth it.
