Wrath is one of BigD's most anticipated games

Of course, we have no idea how WoW's second expansion will fare on retail shelves this Fall, but all of the ingredients are there -- WoW is experiencing a resurgence lately (thanks in part to Blizzard's Recuit-a-friend promotion), and the news out of the beta has been nothing but encouraging for most everybody. Burning Crusade was gigantic, and that was back when 8 million were playing the game. All indications are that Blizzard stands to rake in the cash when their expansion goes on sale later this year.

"back when it was 8 million"
so how many you think are playing now mike?
blizz has not released a "milestone" press release since 10 million over 7 months ago. they were releasing milestone announcements every 90 days. i have told you this several times and you still dont get it.
wowcensus shows the population well under 8million atm. you assume wow was still growing, and you always mention how its "got to be much more then before" several times lately.
however with the frantic rush to get lk out near warhammer time, and panic moves like recruit a friend you are still oblivious.
what do you think the population is? 12-13 million?
lol. seriously. my old server was rapidly dying off when i left. massive amounts of top raiding guilds were dissapating. 30-40 people in my guild 2 of them still play.
but schramm still thinks wow is growing. ok, lk is exciting and im getting more psyched about getting out of beta and into the live game. i fully expect to see the game revive but right now its dying fast. and blizz's panic moves, record pace dev'ing and wowcensus show the truth.
seriously, if blizz was at 12,13,14,15 mill dont you think they would go their normal route and announce the "record" subscription base?
dont you think they would be telling us "when its ready" in their typical cocky smugness?
that term is not used as freely as it used to be. they know, i know, your dont. think today mike. just for once :)

The census also shows players only above level 10 and requires up-to-date entries from every server and both factions on that server. It's about as accurate as your capitalization.
WoW is still growing, just at a slower pace than it used to. No one argues against that. In fact, most people have expected the population to level off for a long time.

According to the interview linked in the wowinsider post directly beneath this one, WOW now has almost 11 million subscriptions.

This is normal in the life cycle of a game like this. Populations taper off when a game is in a lull period. Most of the people gone right now, will be back when Wotlk comes out. ITs a drug man.

Vlad. Seriously. Why do you still post here? I'm not being sarcastic, I'm genuinely curious now. You obviously are extremely displeased with the game, you can't stand the Bloggers here, and 99.99% of everyone who posts a Comment on this site consistently disagrees with everything you say. Why are you still here?

not every post that comes up missing is deleted... i've frequently posted to a number of blogs and it never showed up. one blog actually filtered out the word spam.
