BigRedKitty: Rhino
Daniel Howell contributes BigRedKitty, a column with strategies, tips and tricks for and about the Hunter class, sprinkled with a healthy dose of completely improper, sometimes libelous, personal commentary.
Real short, real sweet. The Rhino... is Big.
Do you understand that? Are you paying attention? Big. B.I.G. Huge. Massive. A whole lot of air-displacement. You may need to buy a bigger monitor.
Taurens, your dream of have a pet bigger than you is totally realized.
And if there was ever a pet that deserved to be a mount and one's pet, this guy is the best reason ever to start email-bombing Blizzard to develop that capability.
The Rhino is a Tenacity pet; it's a bad-@ss tank, baby. It doesn't do the DPS of a Ferocity or Cunning pet, but it has one of the best new pet-talents there is, Blood of the Rhino. That 40% bonus to healing includes everything from direct heals, to the hunter two-piece tier-five bonus, and even bandages.
As of this writing, Blizz hasn't released the Rhino's unique spell - every pet-class will have a unique spell in Wrath of the Lich King - but when they do, we'll be sure to let you know what it is.
Rhinos... commence freaking out; all social-nicety rules have been suspended.

As always, a great big Thank You to the WoW Insider editors for allowing us to publish this movie both here and on our little blog at the same time!

I just tamed one of these bad boys. Nice stomping along sound like the devilsaur. Also looks good in walk mode (unlike the devilsaur which kind of stutters along on one foot).

What Elmo said. That has to be a mistake...
I can't wait to see what the Rhino's skill is, though!

That video makes me want to roll a hunter. So badly.
I wonder if Clefthoofs will be tamable next, since the Rhino looks nearly identical to the Clefthoof?

That's what I was wondering! I would LOVE to have a Clefthoof pet. For some reason I think they're cute. I don't know why. ;D

Further proof that beast mastery hunters will be even more intimidating in the expansion. Honestly, rename your sections Big Red Rhino. Name could use some work and so could the humour, but it's a bad idea to start from
And I did quite literally Laugh Out Loud when beastial wrath was used on the Rhino, it made it look more epic than a beastial wrath Chimera.

The bit about the Tickbird, which may be a slight Wrath spoiler if anyone cares:
Do the small birds that sit on the rhino's horn still leave the rhino after you mount up and de-summon one?
The only way I'd even care about getting one is if I could keep the tickbird around.

First of all, I think the size of some of those exotic pets will be nerfed.
Secondly, I dont think brk was the same lvl as the 70 Elite, thus making it less impressive. If not, NERF!

The only possible issue I see with these lovely new jumbo pets is how they will integrate with a 25 man raid.
They're too big shirley?? The raid will have their screens filled up with a massive devilsaur/rhino etc

It's a tanking pet. Hopefully the hunter isn't bringing a tanking pet to the instance.

I'd be interested in seeing you try these without the tier 5, instead with Northrend blues and greens to get a feel for how well pets are really working ;-)

Rhinos look like really cool pets, and having a mount the same as my pet is something I've thought would be good; but rather than ask for a rhino mount, I'm really hoping for a kodo pet.

I prefer BRK showing us new pets in familiar settings - means he is showing hunters a little new content without spoiling Wrath zones and such - it's like a tease/taster without being force fed.
Keep it up BRK! You make me wanna hunterize!
