Around Azeroth: Master of his domain
By a majority of 3-0, the members of the WoW Insider blogging staff that were awake and responding to questions at 3:30 AM picked this picture, featuring the Lich King and an angel of death, over its rival (available for viewing here.). Reasoning? It "looks cooler," "doesn't have a gnome" and is more of "an 'omg i'm standing in front of the freaking LICH KING' moment." Congrats to victor Anderek of Lightbringer, and unfortunate gnome runner-up Littlest from Lich King beta server. Which picture do you prefer? Leave a comment and let us know!
Do you have any unusual World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see it on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wowinsider.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. We strongly prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use alt-Z to remove it. Please, no more sunsets.

Anderek's would be better if the Lich King wasn't posed looking like he should have a chat bubble saying "Oooow, my back!"

Can someone explain to me why bosses always have to be as high as a skyscraper, even when they are just humans or human origin (Kael, Illidan, Arthas, ...)?
It looks weird, is weird and when fighting them it's just annoying because all you see are the toes.

Probably so that everyone can see the boss. If bosses were normal height ranged DPS wouldn't be able to see them.

The Lich King isn't huge normally, but he will be for raid encounters. It's purely a gameplay mechanic, so everyone in the raid can see them and target them.

I think not having a gnome is a good enough reason for that one to win. XD
I'm so glad the Lich King finally got his own stance/animations. Someone managed to remove the pole from his butt!

I wish you guys would put things like this behind cuts so that people who don't want information spoiled don't have to see it.

Shouldn't you put this after the break with a spoiler? I know I was trying to avoid screenshots of the Lich King from Wrath, seems like that's gone out the window.
And, before anyone says that WoW Insider is one big spoiler these days, remember that there is still a live game which this site is reporting on, and that there are many parts of WotLK which I still wish to know about.

"remember that there is still a live game which this site is reporting on"
Yes, but it's so infrequent when they do a non-Wrath story that directly relates to WoW that it's laughable. It's not us that needs to remember there's still a live game, it's WoW Insider.

Forgot to add the real point, tho: a picture of the Lich King isn't a spoiler. That's like saying, "I saw a picture of Batman in The Dark Knight, now it's ruined."

To be honest though, it's not like you didn't know what he looked like ?
Okay so you didn't know the exact in-game model yet .. but it's damn close to, say, the WC3 wallpaper from the Frozen Throne ending scene where he sits on his throne.

It may seem unreasonable, seeing as yes, I do know what the Lich King looks like, but to me it is a spoiler. It's like my attitude with Dalaran, I don't want to see it before live (or in the unlikely event I personally get into the Beta), so that I can walk in and think wow, the same feeling I got when first walking into Orgrimmar and Shattrath.
It's the same thing, I want my first encounter with the Lich King to be a wow moment, rather than having seen it already on a website.

Why does he has his own name showing and NPC names =/
Can he not tell its the Lich King without a big name above his head?
