Another fun little addition for tradeskills and crafters straight from the Beta realms is the ability to peruse the recipes that someone else knows. It works very simply, too. The crafter links his tradeskill like it were an item. You click on that link and a regular tradeskill window pops open, minus the option to craft, create or enchant what you're looking at. You can see all of their recipes and the materials required for them. This seems like it's going to be especially useful for the tradeskills that have a large variety of things that people need. Jewelcrafting, Enchanting, et cetera. It would be much easier to link a guildmate the list of what I can do rather than look up everything they need myself. "Can you do Savagery? Vitality? Spell damage to bracers? MP5 to chest? Strength to gloves?" Maybe! Here, check and see!
Linking your recipe book over the Trade channel should help sell enchants and inscriptions as well, hopefully replacing the endless spam of three paragraph advertisement macros. Okay, so maybe those macros will never go away, but we can hope can't we? By the way, you can click on the image to the right to make it bigger, in case you can't see it very well as it is.

I wish it listed in the persons armory what recipes they knew. It took me a long time to finally find someone on my server that could craft a Belt of Natural Power for me.

I'm kind of glad it doesn't go on the Armory. I quit crafting pots outside of my guild a long time ago once I hit 375.
Now, if they would let us list a price that we charge for crafting that pot ...

I'm glad it doesn't. The whispers of "can u make pot" would drive me insane.
As it is, I only work in-guild now. The prices for mats are insane and I haven't seen a Fel Lotus in months.

And so continues the great casualization of WoW. Honestly, this is the biggest slap in the face yet. I am appalled. If this goes live my account is as good as cancelled!

So you will cancel your account over an addition that clears trade spam and doesn't really make the game easier to play (aka more casual), but keep your account active with many ppl using add-ons which DO make the game easier to use and other additions to the game to make the gameplay less stressfull?!?! I dont quite get it. kinda surprised you didnt quit after finding out there was an Auction House for ppl to BUY their new items instead of fighting for them themselves, but GG Nub anyways
When i do quit WoW (eventually), ill be sure to have a good reason, not just an addition as small (but time saving) as this.

Please, please don't feed the trolls.
Obvious flame bait, but you went for it anyway!

I wouldn't call it trolling so much as satire, but to each his own.

Are you kidding? I love this!
No more panhandling like a stumblebum, trying to get people to buy an enchant, this is great!

It will also be cool if we can put these links in our guild comment pages.

This isn't massively useful in and of itself ("I cba reading all those does anyone have X?"), but I would hope to quickly see an addon that caches all advertised recipe books and allows you to search for people online who have advertised the specific recipe you need.

Oh the addons will happen one way or another. We were trying to decipher the links last night, but it's looking like we might need Blizzard's help a bit here. Until then we can at least save every link we see and give you fast access to that without having to ask for links every time you want to look for one thing. Hopefully Blizzy will give us a query function that will make the searching easy to implement.

Hurr, blizzard are stealing my addon ideas. Doubt anyone here knows about it, but I used to be working on a giant guild addon that let you share professions and talents with other people, along with much more other things - but both of these ideas have been taken now :(

Don't worry, it already exists:

I just looked it up, it's nothing like what my addon was going to do. It was more of a revamped guild system than just a profession manager, but that's a story for another day.
