Hey, I think someone dropped a gold coin at the bottom of the pool.
Paraduxx of <Agents of Misfortune> took a picture of this unusual mass tauren death in Thunder Bluff on the Deathwing server. She speculates that the tauren had some kind of suicide pact. The only time I've ever seen something like this is in "
corpse graffiti", where a group of people make characters with certain names and die in an pre-arranged area in an attempt at either a protest or a joke. I recall a gnome named "Welcomemat" marking the entrance to the Orgrimmar Auction House for at least a few days on one of my servers. Anyone from Deathwing care to enlighten us on what was going on?
Do you have any unusual
World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see it on
Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing
aroundazeroth@wowinsider.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. We prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use alt-Z to remove it. And corpse graffiti of "lolblizzsux" is never funny.

I'm actually not even sure how you leave your corpse somewhere. Do you log out, or does this happen when you rez with the spirit healer? And weeks isn't all that long. On my server there has been a pink haired naked gnome dude dead around the Ogrimar bank probably for at least a year now. He's moved around every now and then, sometimes joined by other alliance toons but he's been there as long as I recall.
I'd actually like to know who does it because I'd like to give that dude a thumbs up. Rather hilarious imho, but then again this is the sort of juvenile thing I would do myself :p

I've seen this on the Bleeding Hollow Realm recently too.
Just curious, how does one die in a friendly town like that anyway? At least where you want to die- I know you can jump from the Org/TB sky-taxi tower, but that's not how this ins done..

Thanks! Sometimes it's the obvious things for me...
I have also seen the protest deaths outside of the Org. AH on Bleeding Hollow. Can someone let me know how that's done? Again, just curious.

If they're warlocks, they can hellfire themselves to death. Not sure for others, unless there's something to jump from, or an NPC that can kill them.

Read the whole thread.
Some rather funny stuff including how GMs dealt with it.

I can't say for certain what this was about, but I did see it mentioned on the forums.
Some kind of joke about how Blizzard won't listen to player concerns, so the only way to get their attention now is mass-suicide.
I doubt that was it's original purpose, but I got a laugh out of it either way.

PvP viability, and the fact that totems becoming a raid wide buff leave less spots for shamen in raids if I read correctly.

On our server, we had a few corpses lined up in a group in the Trade District spelling the word "HAX".

People creating characters and drowning them in the TB pond seems to come and go in waves. They usually have names that are intended to be funny, but usually are just kinda lame.
One of the most amusing examples of corpse graffiti that I remember was back from the old school TM/SS battles. Someone created four orcs and killed 'em just outside TM. I don't remember the exact spellings of their names, but they were "please" "wipe" "your" and "feet."

I have actually seen a dead Tauren floating in that pond once by the name of "Jesus". So naturally I had a horribly sick laugh at the sight.

Funniest one I've ever seen was someone who rolled a female orc and had her killed right in front of Mankrik in the Crossroads. Her name? Mankrikswife, of course.

Could have been shamans, if they use a certain totem and log off it can kill your fellow players that is near 'em ;)

Occum's Razor comes into play:
Easiest solution is likely correct.
What's easier? Bunch of people made characters and drowned them or a bunch of people swam in the lake as a Shaman used water walking, and fire nova?
Oh, the trick was hotfixed quietly during a server restart and never documented.
It was a shaman protest.
