Around Azeroth: Onyxia takes in a deep breath
While looking at this picture, it occurs to me that I have no memory of any of this game's dragon bosses besides close-ups of their rear legs. Ah, the joy of being a rogue. Anyway, Callandra of <Ancestors of Exodus> on Mannoroth took this picture of an angry Onyxia two years ago, while he was lying dead at tank Kilsythe's feet. This is definitely Phase 3 -- you can see the confuddled raid members running in fear in the distant background, probably directly into the whelp caves. I miss the 40-mans. You just don't get this kind of mass frustration from the BC raids. Thanks to Callandra for the pic (and the correction on the credit!)
Do you have any unusual World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see it on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wowinsider.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. We prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use alt-Z to remove it. And please, no sunsets. Must go play Diablo II now ...

She's not preparing to take a deep breath. She only deep breathes in Phase 2. Then you have to sprint to the sides of her lair to avoid the incoming fireball.
Not to pick nits, but Spectacular Death downed her last Saturday and, because I'm the guild leader and I have to set an example, I forgot my fire resist gear and promptly died 2 minutes into phase 3. Hence, I have quite a bit of time to look about me and encourage on my guild mates. My motto: I die so you don't have to.
From the look of the photo, she's just done a right claw swipe at the tank. I'd have to verify from the video our MT took, but I think she swipes more with her left hand than with her right.
We all agree that she's the coolest looking dragon in the game, even better than the netherdrakes or the world dragons. If we could have any dragon in the game as a mount, most of us would want her.
I never got to experience the "thrill" of 40-mans. I just cannot comprehend how you folks did it. With my Raid Leader giving instructions and me providing encouragement and answering the questions he misses, 15 people is chaotic enough in this encounter when over half are in here for the first time.
Still, this is my favorite endgame so far. The best part is turning in the head to Bolvar in SW and having Lady Prestor standing there. "Hey? Didn't we just kill you?"

I miss old WOW so much. Onyxia is still my favorite fight in the game. God I hate the expansion.

agreed. the 25 man raids just don't give you the same feeling as BWL/Ony/MC did. I guess they can't do the larger raids anymore because 89% of the wow population is buried up to their ears in pvp.
