If you spent any time on the PVE endgame pre-Burning Crusade, this picture will conjure up hours of unfun memories. Being mind-controlled into the lava! Endless corpse runs after wiping yet again on Razorgore! Or simply waiting for the 4/9/39 other members of the raid to get into the mountain, like Milb of Garona here. I salute Milb, who ran the incredibly unpleasant UBRS many times to try to get his Chromatic Carapace. And I salute anyone else who has spent hundreds of hours of his or her life inside this blasted mountain. We are truly the Übers of UBRS. (And by the way, that annoying non-clickable dragon is called the "Blackrock Drake", according to my hunter's Track Dragonkin.)
Do you have any unusual World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see it on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wowinsider.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. We prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use alt-Z to remove it. Please, no sunsets, and remember to attach a picture!

God I hated the corpse run from thorium point. Has to be the worst one in the entire game.

Sadly, if you came to WoW post BC you have no idea what any of that means or why anyone would care. Talk about wasted content.

my favorite place in the entire game. by far. very sad that there are thousands of new players that have no idea what you are talking about or maybe even where it is.

BRD is still one of the best instances in the game.

Call me crazy, but I kind of miss the endless UBRS runs for my Tier 0 set.

I love Blackrock Mountain. There, I said it. It has all the history of previous Warcrafts (For Lothar!), four (count 'em) dungeons, some of the best scripted events in the game, and plenty to do. I was chain-running it for Libram components the other day and it struck me again how much I enjoy that place and how much I'm looking forward to the Dwarf storylines in Wrath.
Yes, the corpse run from TP was horrible, but c'mon how about the Ring of Law? The Arena? Finding Forgewright's ghost for the first time? Grim Guzzler runs? Ironfoe? And Hell, that's just BRD. Don't even get me started on Rend and the Core. If they could re-balance Nef and Rag for 10-25 people I'd... I don't know what I'd do. Be really happy probably.

UBRS! LBRS! BRD! MC! BWL! It's not just the looonnnggg run back from Thorium Point, it's the long run from Morgan's Vigil up the backside and around the circle to get to the chain. A small "nerf" to that instance, let us ride up to the chain and auto dismount.
And you are so right Frank, post BC, how many people have rescued the princess? How many people actually know there's a major boss way down in the bottom of BRD or how to get there? And who smelts Dark Iron Ore anymore? And how many times did you die because you fell attempting the jump onto the balcony outside UBRS/LBRS and didn't realize you lost health with each fall? It's always bad when your pet makes it and you don't.
The upcoming Brewfest will get more people into the mountain and this is a good thing. There are a lot of interesting challenges and bosses and fights in BRD. A good test of a hunter's prowess is to have him/her kite General Drak into The Beast's room. And let's see you not want to run through the Hatchery and hatch all those very tempting eggs. But will post BC people have an UBRS key?
Another "nerf", make those drakes that fly around attackable. Man, every time I go for an Ony attunement run, I just want to pull them.

I'd like to run MC to Domo and try for my Hunter's Quest item for the Epic Bow. I'm sure my S2 Crossbow is a touch better, stat-wise, but I'd like to run through the quest chain just for the fun of it.

I like BRD/UBRS/LBRS/MC/BWL. It had an incredibly vast and epic feel to it that TBC didn't replicate.

I really would like to have run through the pre-BC content. All I did in Blackrock Mountain was a BRD run for the MC attunement, and several Rend runs. Never got round to finishing my Onyxia quest chain, never got into an MC. I got to 60 about a month before BC, so no one was doing them anymore.

Doc has it right... there is nothing in TBC to compare. Karazhan is about as close as it gets, and even that doesn't cut it. BRD has to be one of the best designed dungeons in the game. It truly has an epic feel to it, as opposed to most of the Outland instances where you are basically riding on rails... a straight path to the final boss.

I can understand where Blizzard didn't duplicate this however. (Disclaimer: I just started playing last October). The Outland dungeons were designed to be completed within a reasonable time frame. Like many who came post BC I really never ran many instances but while leveling up my priest alt I got an invite to BRD.
It was by far the most fun I've had playing this game and I absolutely loved it. I also recall looking at the clock at 2 hours past when I normally go to bed when we finally decided to call it quits - after which pretty much everyone in the group admitted we were about ready to pass out. I'd love more instances like this, but I'm actually not sure I could handle them.

"Incredibly unpleasant UBRS"? Whaaaat? BRD and UBRS (and Stratholme) are like the best instances in the game. I miss the dungeons that actually feel like dungeons instead of long corridors.

Say WHAT?!
Blackrock is THE most fun from top to bottom (er, bottom to top I mean) in the entire game! Nothing else has even come close to the epic scale and design of the Mountain. All of Burning Crusade feels very pale in comparison to just that one single "zone" of the original endgame, although I am holding out hope for Wrath.
Even though I did run each instance there maybe hundreds of times, for some reason I never got tired or bored of running them...man I miss those days actually...

OMG I love UBRS, LBRS, BRD, and MC! In that order. Think UBRS was terrible? Ye gods, who did you run with? UBRS was the most fun small group run, and the most like a raid. You had your CC, your strategy fights, your mana conservation fights, and the ability for the hunter to SHINE and kite Drakk!
In fact, once a few of us hit 70, we celebrated by 4 manning UBRS! Nothing says Moonkin are teh uber like tanking Drakk and his adds, no kiting involved.
Hmm.. maybe I need to get an old school UBRS run going tonight.

Yea, replying to myself, but hey, I forgot - UBRS, with a decent lvl 60 group, was a 1.5 hr instance - so much for 'old world is too long'. Heck, UD Strat was doable in 45, remember? OK, doable in less than that if you were any good..

I love that dungeon. Ubrs was the the best!! Except for that really tough pull between the Beast and Drakk. (Sigh) "Do we have a soulstone up?" Just as the last guy would die....LMAO Good times.
Drakk never did drop my chest but I did get this.

I miss UBRS. I was frustrated the one time I was able to kill the last guy with a PUG I didn't have the quest for him... then once i got it, i had no luck with my PUGs. I miss that place a lot

The inside of Blackrock Mountain is big enough. There's no reason that they can't put another instance in there, at some point. Granted, it will probably be built accorging to Blizzard's dungeon philosophy of the time, but at least people will see the inside of BRM, again (and I'll be able to Mind Control people off of the chain, again), and its proximity to the other instances will at least make it convenient for newer raiders to experience them.
