I never thought it would happen, but I'm eating my words -- Turpster, of the WoW Insider Show (and Turpstervision over on Massively) is going to ding 70 with his Shadow Priest before the expansion. And in fact, he's giving you the opportunity to not only see it, but to take him down right beforehand.Yes, this weekend, right after our live show on WoW Radio (which starts at 3:30pm Eastern, or 8:30pm GMT), Turpster will be hanging out in the Gnome/Dwarf starting area of the European Sporeggar server, and right before he dings, he's giving you and all of the other Gnomes who show up the chance to try and take him out as a raid boss. He's even got a strategy posted, and trust me when I say he's got this all planned out as a real, chaotic, surely hilarious raid fight -- this will definitely be a sight to see. And there's loot in it, too -- if you're one of the Gnomes who drops him, you could nab a Tabard of Flame code or a few other cool prizes.
If you're on the US servers, don't worry -- Turpster has written up a quick and easy guide to get you running on the EU realms (you don't have to redownload anything, all you have to do is make an EU trial account). Should be a lot of fun, and make sure to Fraps or screenshot it if you're there. Tune in on Saturday for the WoW Insider Show live on WoW Radio, and then join us afterwards on EU Sporeggar (roll a Gnome, so Turpster looks like a really big raid boss) to take down the T and then watch him ding 70!

Hopefully a million wispers from angry gnomes for taking away their phat epic raid boss...then again, if no one turns up, I guess I could always invite a couple of Horde to run protection for us :P

If you read the guide given in http://wcradio.com/forum/index.php?topic=3914.0 then it should be fairly simple, as long as you click on the link to "Download a Trial" then you will be fine as you wont require a key.

I was under the impression that you couldn't start a group while using a trial account. Won't this cause an issue? Or do you already have someone on the server ready to set up the raid? (Though I'm not sure if trial accounts can join raids either)

The raid doesn't have to be an ingame raid group, it just has to be a group of players fighting together. The problems with the level of players, alliance owned fighting environment and unknown player turn out have made the whole trial restrictions not really come into it. Players will still be able to co-ordinate, and trust me, level 1's and 6's can all hit me with melee and spells (though resists obivously come into play here) I've tuned the encounter with friends and it really shouldn't be a problem to kill me, unless I have some tricks up my sleeve!

Can some of us roll Dwarf Priests just so the raid has some healers?

Yes, I encorage it, Dwarves or Gnomes are both small enough and local enough for them to be good fun choices of character, I don't want to discriminate anymore than I have to already with the level restriction, so any race is fine if you get them there, just think it would look more raid like with the smaller characters.

I really like the thought you put into the raid boss encounter itself. Make sure to record it so we can all point and laugh at the gnome carnage!

BTW, what prompted you to decide to become a raid boss?

Becoming a Raid boss is the closest I can get to being a real part of this world of warcraft, a part of a world which we all care and love, becoming history for...nah! I am pretty into myself, quite frankly I think I rock about 95% of the time, the other 5% I am just off the chart. Raid Boss just seems like the next logical step :P
