I have played multiple
Night Elves over the years I've been playing
WoW (which is since open beta). So why did I just notice the face in the wisp a couple weeks ago? It's not like I don't die a lot. I do. I play on
PvP servers but am not very good at defending myself, so I'm easy prey. I guess it could be new (doubt it), or it could be my recent graphics card upgrade (which isn't that recent), but I think it's just that I never really paid attention.
I also just noticed that the
Timbermaw Hold cave entrances are furbolg heads. Of course, they've been like that since the beginning, but it's new to me.
What things that have been in the game a while are new to you? Or am I just particularly unobservant?

Until recently I had never noticed the Pit Lord Skull (Mannoroth, I suppose) mounted on a tree in the Valley of Wisdom.

I also saw that after some time, but I discovered a very similar "bank" tree in Teldrassil, west, as you exit Darnassus.

I recently purchased a desktop computer to play WoW and had a monster of a video card thrown into the machine so I could watch Blue Ray movies on the HDTV monitor I have as well as play WoW in the best possible resolution. So I've been marveling at all the amazing detail the game has to offer turned up to its maximum video potential.
I walked in through the front gates of Orgrimmar about a week ago on my toon and had to do a double take at seeing a zeppelin inside the city! It's just a small detail I was never able to see while playing on my laptop and when you're on the Flight Path tower it's just too high up above line of sight to notice it.

lol, a bit off topic but this just prompted me to turn my graphics down from ultra high to minimum in evrything and to disable all my addons and if i had to play like this i would quit. not that i think the grapics are that important in an mmorpg, its not a fps, but it still helps
ps. i noticed the wisp face ages ago but still find it hard to spot, so i guess its been there for a while.

I never saw the dry dock gates in the Deadmines on my old Mac. After my upgrade, I did see the gates, but only after seeing them from the water at the STV/Westfall border.
It always seemed strange to me that they were building this Dreadnaught deep inside a cave. Later, when I was in DM, I saw the gates again but from the inside.
It's a drydock! (/selffaceslap)

It was only a month or so ago that I noticed the 12 "kill" or tally marks on the Grand Marshal's Aegis. http://www.wowhead.com/?item=18825
A couple of my guildies had one back when we were raiding AQ and Naxx, I just never noticed that little detail.

I recently found that on the warrior talen pane, the image behind the Arms tree has Frostmourne in it.

Also, there's a human face inside silverleaf bushes.

Just noticed the face in the wisp Saturday. I was corpse running and a Moonkin buddy of mine went by me. I freaked out...

If you look really carefully, wisp form isn't a form at all, the wisp is just pasted on top of your toon's body, which is very very transparent, it's why you have to jump over obstacles you can clearly see the wisp should be able to clear.

The alliance town in Swamp of sorrows. I'm 4 70's later and I'm just finding this town while leveling herbalism!?! Had a nice little chuckle about that.

Well, to be fair, in vanilla WoW there weren't as many quests there. They added some stuff with the expansion, to accomodate the new Draenei lore.

@2--Just went and looked at this since I also missed it!
It is the Armor of Mannoroth and there is a stone under it that reads:
"These demon plates were worn by the creature that first cursed our people with bloodlust. By the heroic act of one brave orc-he was defeated. Mannoroth the Destructor is no more. Let these plates always remind us of how far we've come and how hard we fought to regain our honor.---Thrall, Warchief of the Horde."
Very cool ingame detail; thanks for mentioning it. Anyone looking for it just go to Officer Vu'Shalay in the Valley of Wisdom and look up!

my brother pointed out the other night that there were, I think, horse heads, in the architecture around the door just inside the front entrance to Karazhan. How many times I've walked through that door and never noticed such detailed stonework! lol

Karazhan is the most logical and lore-driven place in Wow.
a stable (at the entrance of course), a diner's room, a theater , kitchens, a private apartment and so on.

I think I remember watching a video of a warlock and seeing faces in their shadow bolt too. Cant really confirm it cause Ive never played one, and whenever I get hit by one i usually die before I figure out what hit me.
