I'm a lore nerd. Plain and simple. Nerdy nerd nerd. Thus, my kryptonite is questions such as, "Who is Aran's son?" and "Why are Blood Elves in Mount Hyjal anyway?" These questions make me weep and wish Know Your Lore was more than just weekly.I've decided to draw a little inspiration from these questions instead of seethe with nerd rage. I ask you, WoW Insider readers, ask me your lore questions! I'll follow them up with nice and easy explanations tomorrow afternoon. If you have a more complicated, more involved questions, maybe I'll take it over to Know Your Lore.
I don't mind getting questions we've answered on the site before, it's pretty easy to miss posts that fall off of the front page, so ask pretty much any lore-related question you'd like, and I'll do my best to answer you! Not everything is as epic as Azjol-Nerub and Oshu'gun, so even small questions are just fine. Don't be afraid!

They first appeared in "The Shadow Over Innsmouth", published in 1931. They were called Deep Ones, and were fictional creatures of H. P. Lovecraft's mind.
"The Murlocs of the Warcraft universe are almost identical to the Deep Ones of Lovecraft's stories. They are one of the primary adversaries encountered in the on-line role-playing game World of Warcraft, and recent updates on the game's website suggest that the Lovecraftian connections will be further explored, with the Murlocs worship of ancient aquatic "gods" being a primary feature. One particular quest involves slaying a murloc-worshipped being by the name of Dagun, the whole questline being strongly Lovecraftian." -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_ones

ROFL at Badger's reply. Too true, unfortunately.
(Calia Menethil is the correct answer, of course. She's several years older than Arthas, and her whereabouts are currently unknown.)

Is there any lore reason why turning in a Fel Armament to the Aldor would make the Scryers hate me more? Aren't the Scryers happy to see demons killed, too?

I know so little on the Tauren's background. By virtue of the quests and instances you tend to undertstand at least a little background on most of the other races. But I find Taurens are skimped on.
How did they come to be? What were the exact circumstances of their alliance with the Orcs?

Okay, the orcs washed up on the shores of the Barrens, since Medivh told Thrall to, and you don't disobey a guy that turns into a bird.
The tauren tribes were not as organized and gathered as they are now, they were scattered, wandering, and pretty much the only thing they all agreed on was that they hated the centaur.
Which was cool, because the centaur had a habit of stabbing them repeatedly in the face. And they were pretty good at it, driving the tauren near extinction. So, Cairne meets our crazy green friend, and they get along pretty well! Thrall's a shaman, the tauren like shamans, everybody's happy.
With the help of the orcs, the tauren cut a bloody swathe through legions of centaur, taking Mulgore for their own and kicking the ugly horse-people out.
For giving them a homeland, and since the orcs are honorable and so respected, Cairne follows Thrall's decisions, and has joined the Horde.

A few in preperation to Northrend:
- What kind of Alliance/Horde forces were left on Northrend, if any?
- How remote is Northrend? Is it unchartered territory to the inhabitants of Azeroth?
(I guess there could be a Know Your Lore on Northrend the continent, in general?)
- Did the Scarlet Crusade ever find out they were being led by a demon (in Stratholm Scarlet)? Ie, was there a quest where that revelation was passed on to.. well, someone?
- So err.. what do the Titans actually look like? Those statue-like things like Maiden are just constructs, or what?

Well, from WC3:TFT, we know there are a small group of Dwarves remaining near Azjol Nerub, as well as remnants of Arthas's original expedition to Northrend out there somewhere. There may be a few remaining Blood Elves, as they attack Arthas during one mission while led by Kael'Thas (Who may still be loyal to him rather than the Horde as a whole, even after his death) but apart from that there's unlikely to be any Horde still there, unless I've forgotten someone.
