Last October, Machinima.com announced a Beowulf machinima contest where contestants could win free WoW for a year! InsomniAddict Productions came in second place, and did a pretty good job of recreating the official trailer for the movie. He recently released a comparison of the two next to each other and they are strikingly similar.
We're not quite sure how Halowulf won, as it barely resembles the trailer. There also appears to be interlacing on the screen! Either way, second place for a first effort isn't a bad way to start!
Please note that I'm not saying it looks bad, because visually speaking, it's a gorgeous little piece of film. However, it appears largely irrelevant to the contest.
That was fucking bullshit. The Halo one should not have won. I don't care how fucking awesome Halo is ( i don't find it that awesome, i liked the book story lines better). It should have been a choosing of what was most identical and creative which Beocraft should have one. It was identical the whole way and creative. Its FUCKING BULLSHIT that he didnt win.
For the record, machinima.com contests are rigged. This is something that's been going on for a long time. Some crappy Halo video always wins their contests.
They've deleted all the posts on their forums accusing them of this, but here are some things you should be aware of. The three big contests they had last year were all won by Halo videos, two of them by the same person.
The Beowulf winner wasn't even machinima, those were cut scenes from the game.
The admins of machinima.com (who all have Halo signatures) use these "contests" to give sponsored prizes to their friends. Don't waste your time with that site.
Thank you for pointing that out, I also feel that way in a sense, and even though my video was named the second place winner in their forums and on youtube, I was never given the prize.

I call bullshit. 'Halowulf' doesn't appear to have anything to do with the original intent of the contest.

the human looks like a muppet. Haha.
Halowulf won for the same reason WoW is at the top of the charts. Cultural appeal. Interesting to see in a WoW vs. Halo popularity contest, Halo wins.
