If you liked this video, you can download it on Filefront or get the song from the Collective Order website. An interesting tidbit to note is that Olibith responded to this video with his first ever machinima, Olibith the Urban Spaceman!

they did, tailoring epic robes were vests initially - until everyone whined they'd rather have dresses again

bumble,
Not everyone whined, sure I didn't like the vest (looked fine on alliance races and females, but did you see one on a male undead, troll, or orc? talk about shocking), we wanted options.
Rather then just turn them into robes they could of just made another pattern, exact same stats, exact same mats, exact same everything, for the robe, and left the vest in game, giving people the option to choose what they liked best, they did it with imbueued netherweave.
I hope they learn in WotLK and give people options.
Anyway I remember watching this vid way back when I first started playing, still just as awesome.

Actually, they did. Spellfire Tunic was in game long enough for me to craft it and wear it for a few weeks. It got changed back to a robe, then.
I like watching it every few months because of its composition, both musically and visually, and I can never get enough of the gnome chorus.

I've been really pleased with the reception of this movie and song.
What most people don't know about this movie is that it was not only prior to the expansion pack, but it was also prior to the first mage love patch. A 1,500 crit back then was uber. Sure, some people could get bigger crits using stacked trinkets, but I refrained from using those as they were considered by many to be bad form and were a source of derision in many a Mage PvP video.
My preference would have been to leave the UI completely out of the movie. You'll notice I turned off every UI element that I could. For many shots I was able to use a "Camera man" to completely eliminate the UI, however some shots could only be filmed from the first person perspective so the damage numbers were included only because I couldn't get rid of them.
So... ignore the crits. These are not the crits you're looking for. My "new" gnome mage (who is actually a few years old now) has those. :)
