This is it. Thirty-one deathmatches later it's down to the final match. In one corner, The Lord of the Outland, the Betrayer of Azeroth, and one of the baddest bosses of the Burning Crusade: Illidan Stormrage! In the other corner, the Archlich of the Plaguelands, the right hand man of Arthas, the final boss of the floating city of Naxxramas: Kel'Thuzad! Read on to learn more about each boss and cast your vote.

- Shear reduces the health of his main target by 60%
- Illidan will occasionally jump into the air and land in a patch of highly damaging blue flame
- Illidan will randomly target players to cast a parasites debuff on, which does shadow damage over time and then summons two parasites to attack the target
- Draw soul does heavy fire damage to targets in front of Illidan and heals Illidan
- Illidan will summon two massive fire elementals, the Flames of Azzinoth
- Every 30 seconds, Illidan will sweep an eye beam across the platform, doing heavy fire damage and leaving a trail of damaging fire behind it
- Illidan shoots fireballs that do splash damage
- Dark Barrage does heavy shadow damage to a random target, though it's rarely cast
For phase 4 (a quick phase, at 30 seconds long), Illidan will unleash the demon within. He turns into a black demon with powerful abilities, but is unable to move. During this phase, he'll cast:
- Shadow blast, a high damage shadow attack with splash damage
- Flame burst, an AoE fire-based DoT that does splash damage
- Aura of dread does a high amount of shadow damage over time as well as increasing the damage taken by shadow spells (stacks)
- Maiev Shadowsong joins the fight -- and though we usually don't consider adds for fights, we're keeping Maiev in this fight because Illidan is just incredibly powerful. (And Maiev would be hunting him down whether he was in the Black Temple or not.)
- Illidan can Enrage, randomly.

Kel'Thuzad does frost and shadow damage with:
- single-target and multi-target frostbolts,
- the ability to mind-control up to 4 targets,
- the ability to create a shadow fissure, causing massive shadow damage to anyone in its radius,
- a frost blast that immobilizes and damages its target (100% of its health),
- a mana detonation which causes causes mana users to explode, dealing damage to all of those around them.

Kel'thuzad MC's Illidan. Illidan jumps off a 1k Needles cliff.
Or if he can't do that, he can kite him around like a frost mage laughing at a enhancement shaman.
Illidan can't touch the ice king.

Illidan. I've never had the chance to raid, but I just know Illidan would win.

He couldn't beat Arthas, I doubt he'd be able to beat Kel'Thuzad either. As much as I like Illidan, Kel'Thuzad just seems like the logical choice.

Fight begins:
Illidan charges at Kel'Thuzad and he calmly sits there waiting for the demon-hunter to approach him. Once hes close enough, Kel'Thuzad explodes all of Illidan's mana, not only reducing his mana by an EXTREME amount, but also doing damage to him.
Illidan does "Draw Soul" and heals himself for a decent amount, while also damaging Kel'Thuzad.
Kel'Thuzad counters by using Frost Blast and immobilizing/damaging Illidan. From "Mana Explosion" and "Frost Blast," Illidan has low health.
Illidan summons the flames of Azzinoth, barely escaping Kel'Thuzad's Shadow Fissure attack that came after freezing Illidan to the ground.
The flames of azzinoth charge Kel'Thuzad, he casts ice bolt on both simultaneously, they slow down to almost standing still. Kel'Thuzad still stands still
Illidan does Eye Beam, and Kel'Thuzad is forced to move for the first time, barely avoiding the attack. (Liches aren't really that fast)
Kel'Thuzad then mind controls one of the flames and they fight each other, the mind controlled flame dies and the second one is near death. Kel'Thuzad finishes it off with an Ice bolt.
Illidan lands and then turns into demon form.
Because Kel'Thuzad uses shadow spells, Illidan's Shadow Blast and Dread Aura does little damage. However, his Flame Burst severely damages Kel'Thuzad.
Maiev arrives during the fight and traps Illidan, immobilizing him.
Seizing the opportunity, Kel'Thuzad launches a frost bolt, Frost Blasts's Illidan to the ground, completely immobilizing him. Kel'Thuzad then opens a shadow fissure under Illidan, killing him.
Kel'Thuzad wins, and then kills Maiev for interrupting the fight (and because I hate Maiev).
I think it would be a close battle, but come on, Kel'Thuzad is one of the biggest bad asses in WoW history.
Plus if we were talking about lore, Arthas would empower Kel'Thuzad and it would be a very quick fight. Arthas beat Illidan, so Kel'Thuzad + some of Arthas' power beats Illidan as well (as someone had already stated)

Plus EVEN IF somehow Illidan "killed' Kel'Thuzad, Liches cannot die unless you destroy their phylacteries. I doubt Illidan would know this, having never dealt with a lich.

Kel is prepared.
Since we're being cheap and allowing shear, I say that Illidan dies to:
"a frost blast that immobilizes and damages its target (100% of its health)"
KT Immobilizes Illidan and drops a shadow fissure under him for good measure.
They've been setting Illidan up for the win since the beginning. Fight the power!! KT for Boss of Bosses!!

Ever since shear started counting this contest has turned into a joke. And now you're counting frost blast, which is by all appearances an instant kill move. What happened to not considering overpowered skills? I've been annoyed ever since the Twin Emperors' healing was taken away. It was overpowered, sure, but so is this stuff! Be consistent!

Oh wow, the "final" boss of WoW vs the "final" boss of BC. How utterly predictable. People tended to vote for whichever boss was further up the progression ladder, not whichever one would actually win the fight. Illidan will come out on top, surprise surprise.
The people voting in this way ensured the game would be decided from the start.

Pretty much. As much as I liked the idea, this became the problem.
I say from here, they should do more illogical contests. Magni Bronzebeard vs. Thrall, perhaps, since the election results came in?

I'm voting for Illidan for two reasons.
Illidan, the demon hunter, had about equal power as dread lords in Warcraft III. Dread lords and liches have about equal power. Therefore, Illidan as a demon hunter has about the same power as a lich. So, Illidan in demon form would have more power than a lich.
Illidan is the only being to survive a fight with Arthas as a death knight. That has to count for something.
