When I woke up today, I promised myself that I wouldn't practice sabotage, espionage, or anything ... "age." Therefore, I've decided to post something amazing in contrast to yesterday. Cranius, creator of the popular Big Blue Dress, has blessed us with a little musical ditty, called Darrowshire.
One of the greatest things about this machinima is that he based it around a quest in the Eastern Plaguelands. It's not every day that you can actually relive the path of a machinima. If you'd like to know what Cranius is up to next, check out his blog.
If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.

Cranius is a machinimator I can respect. Very early, he found his niche, and proceeded to make it his own, refining it, developing it and creating consistently good quality material that stands the test of time.
It's refreshing to see work by someone who obviously understands the essence of good machinima. The movie is filmed in-game and polished up with some minor post-production. It doesn't rely on fancy effects, rather uses the game to tell a story via the medium of original (and well-recorded I might add) song and appropriate shots. Is it just me that thinks that shooting good scenes is something of a lost art when it comes to machinima? It something that people forget about in the age of map and modelviewer, but it's oh so important in any kind of film-making. You can't simply use technology as a crutch for talent. Thankfully Cranius doesn't do that.
This is a moving, powerful but entertaining piece of work that sets a very good example for others in the fields of creativity, and rustic, but effective film-making techniques. Two thumbs up.

That was wonderful, good choice Moo. That was a really touching little questline in EPL, tragic and deeply involved in the personal side of the conflict which more or less destroyed the old kingdom. Cranius does an excellent job of capturing the bleakness of the story and the uplifting nature of the end.
Very well done, sir, very well done.

Wow Moo, nice find. I totally love this and the Big Blue Dress as well.
Most of the time we are quick to point out if the vocals, voice overs, etc don't quit satisfy--in this case it delivers!
There were some pieces of the feedback on Darrowshire I thought were a bit misguided, and I'm guessing left by people who began playing WoW once TBC was released. EPL is no longer the vigorous quest hub it once was, since most people are pushing to hit Outlands as quickly as possible. My original main did this particular EPL quest line, and it was so nice to see it used as content for the video.
Darrowshire is nicely done, and Big Blue Dress likewise is amazing.

saddest quest chain, ever. Very nice. Music was as haunting as EPL is. I always get depressed when I'm in EPL and WPL...

This was a nicely done video. I recently wrote some fan fiction based on the destruction of Darrowshire:

Sister Pamela still brings a tear to my eye. It touches my heart deeply. I try to do at least the dolly quest on each character I level up.
To see it told in a lovely, touching movie is a wonderful experience.

Really quite fantastic. Excellent song, well recorded, well filmed, well edited.
And one of those really well done quests with a great story. (something lost on most of the quests.)
Seriously A+ work. I look forward to anything this guy cobbles together.
