2.4.1's had a chance to settle in, and as usual, people have been finding a few extra changes that didn't get in the patch notes.
There's nothing too earth shattering, though any Shamans out there who have been trying a dual-wield elemental hybrid build might be feeling a bit set back, since quite a few +spell damage one handers have been changed to main hand only, namely Sedai's Blade, Terokk's Gavel, Archmage's Guile, Seeker's Gavel, K'iru's Presage, and the Battle-mace of the High Priestess. Those of you jewelcrafters who have been feeling guilty about killing your poor Nightseye Panther will be happy to know that it now only fades away instead of dying when its buff ends.
In addition, Normal and Heroic Magisters' Terrace mobs have had thier reputation gain adjusted, and you should now be getting about 2k Shattered Sun Offensive rep per a normal clear. For raiders, they'll find that Brutallus' Meteor Slash is now an unlimited range frontal cone attack, apparently to fix a problem with paladin taunting, accord to World of Raids. In case you missed our previous report on it, the Distraction at the Dead Scar bombing run is also a bit easier to finish.
Finally, one documented non-change: The chat filtering problems that the notes claim were fixed are still present on live servers. Hortus confirmed that the fix had some bad side effects and was pulled at the last minute, but will hopefully reappear in a future patch.
We'll keep watching for any other changes to pop up, so keep it tuned here to WoW Insider.

can we take the sword items off the list since shamans can't even use those in the first place??

It isn't just about shamans. The writer is just using shamans as an example of a class that might be affected by this change.

I don't know when it was changed (might have been 2.4 itself) but the Perpetual Purple Firework trinket actually produces purple fireworks now.

They changed Archmage's Guile from a one-hand to a main-hand weapon? Well, there goes my one and only reason to grind reputation with the SSO... :(

They seemed to have nerfed the new island's bombing quest completely. God forbid we have to do anything hard in this game. What's that? people had to do the bombing run twice to get the kills??? Oh no! better nerf it. 10g in about 25 seconds

Not sure who else experienced this, but wrt the Sunfury Attack Plans quest, I think the drop rate might have been upped a bit ... I ran it with 3 chars ... 2 of them got the drop on the first kill, the 3rd got it on the 2nd kill. Maybe I was just lucky.
On that note, I normally do a full flying loop from Shatt-nagrand-BEM-Netherstorm to do all the dailies and pick up mining nodes along the way for the Mana Residues. Previous days have required that I do another loop of Hellfire to get all 8 residues ... last night I got all of them before entering BEM ... my last 3 came off the same node of adamantite... So I wonder if they didn't up that rate as well.
Once again, maybe I was just lucky last night and am gonna be really P*ssed off tonight when I have to grind away killing 30 mobs for the plans ;-)

Soz, forgot to add Hellfire at the end of my loop ... not that it matters, I'm sure you clever folk picked up what I was saying ;-)

*Sigh*
Once again Enhancement shaman get nailed when they gave us a mechanic that allowed us to be actual jack of all trades.
They nailed the healing weapons to main hand only, and now damage weapons.
Heaven forbid someone use anything other than the cookie cutter specs.

Joining a BG as a raid of 6 or more will now match you up against other premades-- you're in an entirely different (and much longer) queue. Didn't see that in the notes, just found it out online.
