Will, one of the two bloggers behind this new site, sent us a tip early this morning hoping for a shout-out, and I'm glad to oblige. WoW Investor is a new blog that I've already added to my RSS reader. Their stated purpose is "to keep this blog updated with the latest strategies to increase your wealth using purely financial means," and so far they've been sticking to it.What do they mean by "purely financial means"? You won't be finding advice on what mobs to grind or which daily quests are the most profitable. Instead, your WoW investment team Will and Jeff bring you ideas on what you can do to earn some gold without leaving the cozy confines of your favorite capitol city. Here are a couple of money-making opporunities they've posted already:
- If you see Netherweave Cloth going for much less than 3g a stack, buy it, make Heavy Netherweave Bandages, and vendor them. One stack of cloth makes 10 bandages, which will get you 3g from the vendor.
- At the moment, low-priced Primal Nethers are flooding the AH, so you can make a tidy profit by crafting various Spellthreads. Even if you're not a tailor yourself, you should be able to find one who will make you the Spellthread for mats plus a tip, without killing your profit margin.

Just as in real life, there are 2 ways to make money:
You can work your socks off (grinding).....
Or you can make your money from opportunities you see (like the WoWInvestor blog), or from other peoples mistakes.
I took the 2nd path, and not wanting to brag, but I made over 10k gold. I have never farmed Primals, or any mats for that matter, never mined or picked herbs, and never killed Clefthoofs all day for their leather. I simply had WoW open on my 2nd screen all day while I worked, and brought bargains from the AH and trade chat. Somebody "WTS 10x Primal Fire"? Check AH for lowest price, do the math, and /w him with a lower offer, when he refuses, up it a bit, and its likely he will take it.
Worked for me, over 10k in less than a month. Probably spent 3-5k a day though, and the first 2k was the hardest. I could still be doing it now, I could be able to buy a epic flying mount every week if I *really* wanted, but ya know what - even though it may sound easy, making virtual money isn't important enough to distract me from my work all day.
But at lease I now I know what real life investors feel like! xD

Ever have one of those "oh damn" moments? I just had one as I sell Netherweave all the time at whatever the AH price is. Plenty of times that has been 2G 40s or so... lol.

I've been trying to convince my guildies to make bandages and vendor 'em for a while but they just don't believe me. Their loss i suppose. Another good tip is to check the auction house for high buyout low bid items with only a few hours left right before the server is schedulded to shut down. I bid on a bunch of recipes early this morning and probably won most of em.

How often do they actually shut down? We (EU servers) had maintenance today, and a small patch, yet all my auctions are still listed including bids made yesterday.

Converting netherweave to bandages takes time- not a lot, but probably 3 min to convert 4 or 5 full stacks - not a lot, but it ads up over a month or so. If you could post it on the AH for less than 3g while you're posting everything else, it may still be worth it depending on what your time is worth to you.

or, instead of putting it on the AH for the lower price, just click "create all" and go do something for a while, then even if u have been disconnected from the server, when you come back, the bandages are there ready for you to sell, and you didnt lose any of your time from what had to be done.

yes, there are ways to limit the hassle, but it's still a hassle over posting it up while you're posting everything else. my point was that time must be considered in a money making equation.
can i make another 20s per stack by converting them? probably not worth it for me. that doesn't mean it won't be for someone else though

...maybe Blizzard could implement a “Frequent Flyer” type program on the Auction House and Merchants in the capitol cities that you get points for buying equipment or trading on the AH that you can redeem or equipment (e.g. weapons) or Experience Points (to help you level up) – You could get to 70 without leaving the city or killing a single mob!

"Low-priced" Primal Nethers? The cheapest I've seen on Farstriders has been 145g!
