Tuskarr Animation movie

While
2.4 has been mostly concerned with the
Sunwell and
Kil'jaedan, there's still
WoTLK to look for in the future, and still a few preliminary tidbits hidden away in the patch files. We've already showed you some shots of the
Tuskarr that made it in, as well as the
preview page for the race over on the official
WoTLK site, and now it looks like someone's dug a bit deeper into the files and found the Tuskarr Animations. The animations are pretty straightfoward, mostly just running, fighting, and casting, but there is an animation in which the Tuskarr jumps up and slams his behind on the ground - perhaps a high powered
War "Stomp" to make even Taurens envious? Enjoy this closer look at the gentle giants of the
Borean Tundra!

Mark my words - this is a new playable race. Do NPCs generally have this much animation?

Goblins even have dance animations. And mostly NPC races have around this much animations, too.

Goblins share a lot of animation with, ironically enough, the hated Gnomish rivals. Unfortunately, their "dance" isn't perfect - it seems to be a Goblin original, rather than a copied-over Gnome animation - because at one point, for a few frames, their entire left leg between hip and foot (which itself doesn't move) spins around 360 degrees in an anatomically-impossible fashion that you can barely even see without WoW ModelViewer's animation slowdown feature... and then even at normal speed it remains painfully obvious once you realize it's there.

I agree that there are a lot of animations for a NPC - leading one to believe that they could be a playable race - but until we see evidence that there is another race out there for the Alliance (as I assume these guys would be a Horde Race, what with them working with them in Northrend and all....), I'm just going to assume that the programmers are just having a lot of fun playing with the model.

Actually, several of the animations - running, casting, one weapon attack all look to be off of the Ogre model. The two handed thrust and the parry look new tho'.
The head down with the mustache flutter! That's classic. And the butt thump move, I bet it's even funnier when it is happening to someone else and not stunning YOU!

one of the few animations a lot of npc's dont have is the jump animation, as well as a mounted animation.

Speculating whether this is a race or not seems flawed.
As it specifically says on the website its self, its flagged as a Horde & Alliance faction.

Tuskarr look extremely STUPID.
Almost as stupid as Panderians, but not quite that over the edge.
If Blizzard's plans for future races is just going to be the standard "pick any animal and make it stand up on two legs (even if it originally didn't have two legs)"... then this game is just dried up on ideas.

I'd hardly classify Pandaren and Tuskarr as "new races", they've been around since WC3:TFT, which came out FIVE YEARS AGO.

Let the Alliance have them. Horde can take goblins, or another pretty race.

Are you kidding? I want a tuskar prot war, belly bumping and butt slamming on like every fight. Making funny faces and shield blocking the crap out of everything with it's tusks or something. They're not a pretty race by any means but they seem like they have a ton of character. I'd guess they'd have warriors, hunters, shaman and priests I'd assume.
