Well, it is the Tuesday before Easter, and true to Mike's original predictions, the rumors are flying that today patch 2.4 will hit. The PTRs are down, and everything seems set. Of course, if this happens, we will not only be looking at awesomeness, we will be facing extended maintenance. To help you wait it out, we will not only be offering content all day long, but we have compiled a nifty list of content from the past week or so that you simply must read.

2.4 is not coming today because I am scheduled to kill Illidan this week, for my title. I was on vacation last week and missed my guild's first kill and therefore the wow gods will not align against me. Although if I complete the quest chain I should really get the title anyway, even if it's after 2.4, but that's just IMHO.

It's official it is a definite maybe 2.4 IS hitting the servers today. You can not say one way or the other they are not. In the end Blizzard will do what they want no matter what we say.

I'd really love to be wrong, but I don't think that 2.4 will be out today, as we're just seeing a regular scheduled maintenance notice - I'm keeping my fingers crossed for next week though!

Yeah, we just have the normal maintenance window. Typically, patch days have a much expanded maintenance window. One such as 2.4 definitely would.
As a side note, I do believe this is the 4th week in a row of full maintenance instead of rolling restarts. So much for that plan...

I wish the patch was today! It does seem too early. If they bring the PTR up today and unlock the last few bosses in sunwell my guess is next week. Otherwise the week after that.

The patch isn't going live today. Every Tuesday when patches go live, when you log in, it downloads the actual patcher file (not the data, but the executable that applies it). Today, this isn't happening. Probably next week

It could be that you're just trying to log in and get the patch data too early - that's happened to me in the past. But right now it does indeed look like there is no patch.

Well, often times content won't be available for an hour or so after maintenance begins, so that isn't really a gauge.
The true gauge is the "Breaking News", Regular Scheduled Maintenance, no mention of a patch, no mention of extended downtime, which you always get with a patch.
If I had to guess, I'm saying 3 weeks. The PTR are only down so people will log the TTR instead. They still have what? 2 or 3 encounters in Sunwell which have recieved ZERO public testing. Now if they plan on releasing the Sunwell with no testing so we have fresh encounters...April Fools Day release...

on the EU status page it has the following:
Weekly Maintenance, 19/03
This Wednesday there will be a scheduled maintenance. Please note that all European realms will be offline from 03:00 until 11:00, Paris time (CET).
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
further down the page it states:
Sometimes patches are applied to the game to add content or correct bugs. In these cases, maintenance will usually commence around 3am and conclude at 11am on Wednesday (Paris time), but these times are flexible.

It's not news, and it doesn't mean that the patch is coming. For previous patches, the background downloader has been going weeks before the patch actually went live. :)

Hello, the EU servers says that the maintance will start at 03.00, usually it is much later, like 05.30 etc.
Also they have not only taken the PTR servers offline, but you cant even see them anymore in the realm window!
