Here in the States it's election season. Newspapers and websites are plastered with campaign information. Preliminary polling for both factions will close on March 20, 2008. Then the leaders will go head to head, vying for the leader of the World... of Warcraft. Feel free to campaign in the comments for your candidate of choice.
Who should serve as the leader of the Alliance?
Highlord Bolvar Fordragon- Currently the steward of
King Magni Bronzebeard- The Dwarven leader promotes further exploration and expansion of alliance territories. Bronzebeard is a champion of family values and service.
High Priestess Tyrande Whisperwind- Whisperwind has based her platform on environmental issues, particularly ridding the environment of undead abominations. As the leader of the Night Elf people, she promotes equal opportunity and the preservation of the emerald dream.
High Tinker Gelbin Mekkatorque – Mekkatorque is currently serving as elected leader of the gnomes. Probably the most intelligent of the hopefuls, this candidate favors science, industry, and the reclamation of Gnomergan.
Prophet Velen- This Draenei leader is a relative newcomer to the

I say Bolvar Fordragon, mainly because "promises of increased defenses for all of their lands. He recommends increased budgets for literacy programs and library services."
If not him, High Tinkerer Gelbin Mekkatorque, mainly because we need to take back Gnomeregan. And because he's a gnome, and gnomes, as we all know, are the secksiest beasts in town.

Jaina. Her and Tyrande seem to be the only sane ones of the lot.
Bolvar - Didn't realize the lady standing next to him was a huge dragon.
Magni - Daughter is now pregnant with a Dark Iron son and heir to the throne, brother is dead.
Velen - Sees visions. Likely plundering the local peacebloom stores.
High Tinker - Gnome. 'Nuff said.

It's because not only is he a dickhole, he's a dickhole with delusions of competency. He may have vision that Tyrande lacks, but I'm guessing that said vision comes from the bottom of a bottle.

I'd vote for Jaina as well, as she has a very strong claim: good relations to the Night Elves and the Horde, especially the orcs, and she is the only live descendant of the three original founders of the Alliance. In a setting that is partly based on dynasties, that should not go unmentioned.

He's a Strong leader and a true King.
and everyone can get along with Dwarves.
also King Magni is the only one who keeps relative control of his Kingdom. the troubles in that area are minor compared to the others.
he is the buffer between the Alliance lands and Lordaeron.
and before Shattrath everyone had their Heartstone in Ironforge because it's the best city around (and closest to the old dungeons and the boat to Kalimdor)

Will Hemet Nesingwary be on the list for independent? I sure hope so. Let's run the list. He's neither faction. He let his son take over his business in Stranglethorn to move on to bigger ventures in Nagrand. He quotes South Park. To top it all off, he believes in the pointless killing of animals for profit. How can we go wrong?
