Corpsebride of Nordrassil made a suggestion that Naga should be a playable race in World of Warcraft. She gives a list of reasons why Nagas should be a playable race such as: they're highly intelligent with their own language; they have a unique architectural style; they have permanent underwater breathing as a built-in racial ability. The author pointed out that Naga would fit in better with the
I would make Goblins a playable Horde race if I were in charge of recruiting playable NPC races from the existing environment. The Horde needs an annoying little race to balance out gnomes. While they're neutral, goblins already have an inhuman look to them that tends to be characteristic of the Horde. They might have racial traits that help them to get better deals on goods from vendors, perhaps even if they were not skilled in engineering, they might be able to use player-made bombs such as the Exploding Sheep. I would have Goblins play Warlocks, Mages, Hunters, and Rogues.
If you could play any race in the game, what would it be?

A highly intelligent model of the harvesters from Westfall. Their racials would be Engineering, and an increased armor bonus, as well as being able to wear plate from level 1. Warriors would be the only playable class I think as even an artificial intelligent machine can't cast magic, and they are just too danged loud to stealth. At lvl 40 they will learn how to make a steam powered wagon as their mount, and lvl 60 it can upgrade to a covered wagon.
So hick it's sick.

They could have some kind of non-magical healing abilities as well. Plate wearing healers. Harvester Paladins?
Also, they could have some type of mage-like mechanical frost and fire damage. Hmmm...
So Warriors, Paladins, and Mages? I feel like they'd need one more playable class. Maybe a hunter type situation with mechanical "pets" that they can find recipes for or learn to "construct" as they level up?
So Warriors, Paladins, Mages, and Hunters. I like it!

I would definitely roll Naga. Or whatever those "Daughter of Destiny" things are. 'cause they look BA.
But really - Naga would be fun. Plus that racial would be awesome.

No doubt in my mind - the Consortium. They look cool, easily brought in. That would be a great addition to the Alliance or Horde.
They also could replace Neutral City Golbins if the gobs are Horde.
I love the way those Etherials look.

Yes! Ethereals FTW!
I doubt it would happen...a playable non biological race. But damn they look so badass, and their animations are awesome.

I'm one of those guys that basically wants to play as any and every race possible. When i first started playing, i knew i'd love to play as a naga. Or a gnoll. Or an ogre. Hell, i'd settle for a mag'har or forest troll
I really don't see why goblins aren't playable, they even seem to have a model that supports player armor. I'm sure they will someday... Their racial will be the ability to turn into a giant robot!
But i'm going to have to agree with everyone who said ethereals. They are just incredibly badass. Imagine one wearing some of the crazier armor sets you can get.
As for pandaren, i sincerely believe that when they are made playable they will outnumber blood elves and night elves combined

The talk about goblins got me thinking. Why would they settle for the horde? Or Alliance for that matter. Could they not stay neutral but you can play them nonetheless?
Although, that wont work, but why could they not be available for both the horde and alliance, but you choose you alligiance when you start?

What WoW needs is not just a new race, its an entire new playable faction. Personally i have become bored with the constant grinds and the more recent "arena is our god" attitude the game has taken on. With new and exciting competition just around the corner WoW needs to get some leverage. Sure WotLK will be new and exciting but as far as im concerned it's the same thing as last time with a polar twist. Adding a third playable faction would stir things up and add a whole new level of competition to the game. Imagine 3-team arena matches and battlegrounds as well as transforming the environment of the PvE content. An example of a faction that could be added would be the burning legion or a elemental/beast faction perhaps. The only negative sides to adding a third playable faction is that it would mean very much work for blizzard to balance and adjust the game as well as the new faction might be bullied by existing players (IE horde&ally teaming up to bring down the newcomer).

A neutral faction with Goblins and Ethereals, maybe?

Scourge FTW!!!
Once WotLK is over, essentially all of the Scourge storyline is over. So start a new one, it revitalises the game and they can start creating new content and storylines instead of basing it off WarcraftIII mythology.
We could have Necromancers finally!!!
Either that or the burning legion becomes a faction.

I actually used to hope that TBC would add a third faction under Illidan with Naga, Blood Elves, and the Draenei (The cool ones from WC3, not the spacegoats.)
I was disappointed.

Considering that the Naga are still loyal to Azshara, the former Night Elf queen that brought about the first invasion of the Burning Legion and betrayed the entire Night Elf race. . . well, doubtful.
As for Pandaren, no one has ever found any reference of an actual Chinese law that forbids "depictions of violence against pandas." There's no reason they couldn't be made a playable race. They'd be an interesting noble balance to the sinister Blood Elves among the Horde.
Personally, I'd love to see Worgen. The Horde has Forsaken and Blood Elves as their "mistrusted" races, and I think the Alliance should have one, too. For years the Worgen have fought with local alliance populations which would account for mistrust. Lore hints that the humans of Gilneas have been turned into worgen, though, and the story could be that they mastered their curse and sacrificed their being human during the day for the ability to maintain control in their now-permanent worgen form.
Besides, how cool would a worgen rogue be?

Screw 2 new races, add a new faction altogether, allow the scourge to be playable, you could be an undead, abomination, or one of those spider thingies

Blizzard's never going to make nagas a playable race. You know why? Cause they have no legs . . .
Forget about goblins and murlocs, they're just too uncool. Look at all the races right now. Even the gayest looking blood elves are pretty buff.
So far Pandas are the best candidate.
