Although we've speculated in the past as to when Arena Season 4 will be going live, our anticipation fanned by the revelation of more and more Brutal Gladiator gear, Kalgan pops by the WoW General discussion forums to pour cold water on everyone's expectations by saying that Season 4 will start "Not very soon." He explains further that "S3 rewards have quite a bit of life left in them before they start to feel obsoleted by pve gear." Given that the Arena items uncovered so far in the PTR are only a fraction of what is supposed to be a wide collection, this sounds more than plausible. As Drysc explained earlier in the same post, PvP gear is designed to match PvE gear progression -- for instance, Arena Season 3 items are roughly on par with Black Temple and Mount Hyjal gear. The Sunwell Plateau needs to be unlocked in stages, as quests and raid drops open up more content, meaning most of the PvE gear that is a step up from BT/MH gear won't be available until at least a few weeks after Patch 2.4 goes live. It stands to reason that Arena Season 4 will only begin when most of the PvE progression has access to the Sunwell Plateau's latter bosses such as M'uru and Kil'jaeden. Considering that Patch 2.4 doesn't seem quite done yet, Season 4 is probably quite a ways off.

Makishima, I fail to see how you don't understand that the difficulty of getting Arena gear pales in comparison to the difficulty of getting geared up via PvE raids enough to do BT/Hyjal.
Sure, we "can" go do both, but doing Arena for gear is orders of magnitude easier than doing it the PvE way.
What's even MORE lame is that your shiny Arena gear can get you into PvE raids in a pinch. So you're taking LESS TIME to get your gear, and potentially getting into raids FAR QUICKER than the standard way of gear progession. I do QQ about that. WoW is a PvE first and foremost.
I think Blizz is making some pretty serious concessions to PvE in order bring about a viable PvP game. I think it's FTL.

As far as comments about "well those that PVE and PVP have a gear advantage over those that play 10 games a week and want imba epics" erm... AND?! Why the hell should those who play ALL THE GAME not have an advantage over those who play in 7 small instances? That makes no sense whatsoever.
Effort should always equal reward, the PVP whiners are breaking enough of this game without demanding exactly equal footing with everyone else.
its getting VERY much to time that Blizz split the PVP side off, give pvpers gear to select as on the tourny realm so your all equal. Then the whining about "but he has better gear - crai" can come down to "the scrubs have the same gear" - well you wanted a balanced PVP system - live with it. OHHHH - you want equal epics to everyone else for less effort, nothing to do with PVP being fair, i seeeee.

Uhum... PvP gear isn't easy to farm... It takes a lot of games to boost up your arena point rating. I do not buy my teams... I fight for my points and it's darn hard.
I've been doing Heroics every day aside from BG and Arena. I'm doing heroics to get specific items that will boost my character but I haven't received any of them yet... Thus, making it much more likely I will turn to BG and get myself some honor points to get my gear boosted up.
I get tired of farming the same instances day in and day out... If I gotta look at the time spend to get better gear I would say that it doesn't equal up against each other... However.
I must practice and fight much harder in Arena then I gotta fight in Heroics. In Heroics your drops depend on their drop percentage, thus, if unlucky, like me, you've been doing 14 days Underbog to get 1 specific item. It just sucks... No wonder people are turning to PvP to get better gear.
I'm playing Warlock, Soul Link, so it doesn't matter if I have PvP or PvE gear but if I put all things aside and look at the odds I'm better of playing Arena and Battlegrounds to get my items then to go farm friggin' heroics.
In a way Arena gear does equal PvE gear in how you can obtain it. For myself, I'm an honest player and I do not buy a team to boost my rating, I do not have the gold for it and I wanna progress on my own skills and knowledge... But the time I spend playing Arena does equal to the time I spend in Heroics. I'm basicly waiting for the patch so that I can boost my gear with the Heroic Tokens.
In my oppinion there will always be players who abuse the system, same goes for the gold buyers... But no way in hell do all players buy teams to boost their Arena points. That's just a small percentage.
For the honest player PvP gear is just as hard to get as PvE gear.
And BTW... Why the friggin' hell are people complaining. PvPers get Arena Season 1 for Honor, you get friggin' instance nerfs and no attunement requirements to black temple... and trust me... the guys in Season 3 gear will help you get to Black Temple much faster, be glad you dont have to spend friggin' weeks to get attuned anymore.
We get Season 1 but read over the patch notes what PvE players get in return... In my oppinion it all equals out against each other.
Friggin' hell... I need to nerf my posts :)

Agree with you Dakota.
I also earn my points alone. To get to 1850 rating for the wepon in damn hard, not to mantion the shoulders. I personaly got my S3 wepon 1 week ago. Before that I had to level BS for the mace so my wepon can be closer to dps to the otehr teams I meet at at that rating. Throughout the games over 1800 rating I have found that most of the players use arena gear but PvE weponts from BT. Even with high resiliance, which prevents them to nuke me fast, eventually at the end of the curent game we lose, cause my healer have to heal much more, than the healer of the opposite team, just because I do less dmg than the other dps-er.
About effords getting wepon from PvE - truely it is hard, but also hard raiding is ment for ppl that actually have time to raid that long. I am a working man and evening I enjoy playing some with my friends in wow. I literary cant find the time to raid that much to obtain the gear from BT for example. That is why Blizzard is releasing these new Seasons - so ppl with less time to play, which still log into wow for few hours at the night, to have the chance to oppose other hard raiding ppl that make arenas also.
About the arena points - buying team woth give you better gear. True - you can get boosed but if you dont have personal rating for the wepons you cant do much in arena. And only the legs, chest, head and gloves is far not enough to get you in BT or some high instances.
