You remember that 3v3 Arena tournament we told you about? The one with $200,000 worth of prize money, that's going to be played on private servers full of premade characters and paved with free epics? Well, today Blizzard announced which items you're going to be able to choose from, should you decide to cough up the $20 entrance fee. Let's take a look.First off, there's high-quality ammo, reagents, bandages, poisons, food, and water. Boring enough. In case you feel the need to look really bad-ass, or to get from place to place faster, you can grab Reins of the Black War Tiger/Horn of the Black War Wolf. All that is fine, but what about actual gear? All the Season 2 Merciless Gladiator gear is available, and all the Tier 5 class sets. There are also selected other items from the tier 5 raids (SSC and TK), as well as some badge loot to fill in the gaps. I'm even seeing the odd T4 raid item, like the Eye of Magtheridon and of Gruul, and some Heroic drops like the Scarab of the Infinite Cycle (these seem to be limited to the accessories).
Now that you've got all this awesome loot, you'll need some gems and enchants to put on it. Fortunately, there's quite an array to choose from. By my count, Blizzard has made 65 enchantments and inscriptions available, and 52 gems, including all the regular blue cuts, the cuts of Earthstorm and Skyfire diamonds, and several other gems obtained through drops and repuation. No epic gems.
And finally, there are hunter pets available in every species (as far as I can tell), from Bat to Wolf, so no matter what kind of pet you like, you'll find it at the tournament. Edit: except bears, apparently. Sorry, bear fans. Overall, just counting equippable items (armor, weapons, accessories), there are 441 pieces available (70 cloth, 68 leather, 70 mail, 76 plate, 73 weapons, and 84 accessories). But don't take my word for it -- head over and check it out for yourself. Did they forget to include anything? What items do you think are going to be overwhelmingly popular? If you're competing yourself, what will you be grabbing?
Update: as Killah noted, the S2/T5 on the tournament realms is a tier behind the S3/T6 currently available on the live realms. Blizzard clarified that this is their general intent in the tournament FAQ: "We intend to differentiate the gear used on the special tournament realm and the live realms and they will generally be at least one season behind."

No Dory's Embrace? No Season 3?
I think it means that Blizzard thinks that Season 2 was the only "real" season.

I'm a bit surprised that none of the Darkmoon Card trinkets will be available for use in the tourney, but then again, the proc from the Twisting Nether card can surely turn a game around:

And there's quite a bit of stam trinkets in there too, which is a bit interesting, although odd that they didn't add the KoT rep reward trinket for use: (Two PvP stats in one trinket? Who wouldn't want to use this?)

You can actually get Scarab of the Infinite Cycle from both non-heroic and heroic Black Morass.

I didn't see Executioner on the enchants page. Pretty surprising if they didn't include that, as it seems to be the enchant of choice for most main-hand weapons for dual-wielding melee classes.

Makes sense - if they're hopping back an entire patch to 2.2, Zul'Aman, and thus Executioner, wasn't actually out yet. =)

How are enchants going to work? Are all the toons going to have enchanting as a profession, with no mat requirements?

I think it's important to notice:
No crafted epic weapons.
This means no stunherald. Very interesting. I think this sort of thing will cripple a lot of teams when their Warrior isn't nearly as useful...

What about profession items, like Belt of Nigh-Invulnerability or Goblin Rocket Launcher?

This is VERY interesting - look on this page:

One of the screenshots show enchants sold by a vendor which proves that Blizzard ARE able to let enchanters create BoE enchants to sell on the AH!

Good spot! But if they do, I don't know whether they would release the most powerful enchants as items, and the ones shown all use different icons too.
Also further down it reveals 2.4 will be called "Fury of the Sunwell". Raarrrgh!
