What do you do for WoW Insider?
I'm the writer behind Insider Trader (although as of this week, I'm inside trading it to the capable Amanda Miller), 15 Minutes of Fame, Gamers on the Street and the occasional Well Fed Buff. Behind the scenes, I'm features editor for the Joystiq MMOs, which means keeping an eagle eye on MMO nooks and crannies for offbeat stories, special series, fresh column ideas – all the chewy goodness that keeps WoW Insider and Massively readers munching on stories in between the latest news bulletins.

What's your main right now?
A handful of guildies and I recently restarted on a new server with characters specifically designed for world PvP. I tried my best to start a class I was less used to playing, but I quickly found myself back in the groove as an undead priest. I've unexpectedly remained shadow specced the whole way, and I love the view from the shadows. (And so do all the guildies who have look at me in my Outlands clown gear – Shadowform lends the outfit an aura of chic style).

For the Horde or Glory to the Alliance?
For the glory of both! Having played on both sides, I don't put much stock in faction stereotypes. It's more a mood thing for me: Alliance sets a noble tone for raiding, while Hordies attack first in PvP.

Favorite thing to do in Azeroth?
It's a tie: world PvP and hitting brand new content with a small group of friends. My absolute favorite WoW moment is that space after a spectacularly unexpected wipe, when tears are streaming down your face and you have to yank off the headset to dash for the bathroom because you're laughing so hard ("OMG, did you see that thing? It must have spawned about 15 extras, all on David!") – and then you settle back into the chair, buff up and pwn the place (with no adds this time, of course).

What's the best instance in the game?
Deadmines – yeah, I know ... But really. Deadmines. I'll never forget all the chaos on TeamSpeak back in beta when we blasted through that last door and discovered the ship inside the cavern! Then when Mr. Smite started roaring ... And Deadmines has something for everyone. My teenage son runs this place over and over with every single alt he has and still musters enough enthusiasm to help poor ol' Mom farm for linen and wool. My husband organizes Naked Deadmines Races (everyone get on TeamSpeak, take off all gear and weapons and meet at the instance zone-in; when the starter yells "Go!", fight your way to Van Cleef as quickly as possible, using only armor and weapons looted during the run). Even my daughter (who usually confines herself to fishing, cooking and setting up house in the nicest cottage in each city or village) has tanked this instance on her little warrior, under the watchful eye of her big brother – she loves the gnomes and the parrots and Mr. Smite and the boat and Cookie. A rollicking good instance.

What's the number one thing Blizzard could do better?
I think Blizzard could stand to be more visible and active on their own community forums. If you're going to have forums, you should be ... well, forumming.

What accomplishment in-game are you most proud of?
I started WoW with a group of burned-out ex-EQ raiders who wanted to keep things small and simple. We figured we'd drift along through the levels, with 11-man UBRS our "end game." But we got hooked. When Zul'Gurub came out, we decided it sounded like something worth recruiting for. It was – but in the process of adding enough members to cover 20-man raids with a few inevitable absences, we discovered that we really did prefer a smaller guild. Still, we wanted to see the 40-man content ... So we forged ahead anyway. Scrambling to come up with enough players on a nightly basis, we'd clear early bosses with 27 or so and scrape together a massive 32 for end bosses. There were nights when we stalled out because we didn't have the right people available (ohhh, to have had more dispellers in MC!). But we conquered every goal we set out to complete and had glorious adventures in the process.

If you could add one touch of personal flair to your main, what would it be?
Just because I'm undead doesn't mean I should have holes in my armor. I want to be as proud as everyone else to finally get that stylin' epic robe -- I don't want mine to be in a state of disrepair!

If you had 10 more hours to play every week, what would you spend them doing?
Busy work. I love fishing, cooking, trades, faction rewards and all the little details that make a character more than just another 70 in a cast of thousands. I'm not much of an altaholic – I like to polish a character until she shines. (And fishing is a great way to catch up on the scuttle at school when you're kicked back at a quiet little river with your kids!)
