Today, the terror of the Black Temple, Illidan Stormrage throws down against Ahn'Qiraj's double trouble, The Twin Emperors. Who will survive to move on to the Final Four and who will face defeat at the hands of a superior foe? Read on for the details and the chance to cast your vote

- Shear reduces the health of his main target by 60%
- Illidan will occasionally jump into the air and land in a patch of highly damaging blue flame
- Illidan will randomly target players to cast a parasites debuff on, which does shadow damage over time and then summons two parasites to attack the target
- Draw soul does heavy fire damage to targets in front of Illidan and heals Illidan
- Illidan will summon two massive fire elementals, the Flames of Azzinoth
- Every 30 seconds, Illidan will sweep an eye beam across the platform, doing heavy fire damage and leaving a trail of damaging fire behind it
- Illidan shoots fireballs that do splash damage
- Dark Barrage does heavy shadow damage to a random target, though it's rarely cast
For phase 4 (a quick phase, at 30 seconds long), Illidan will unleash the demon within. He turns into a black demon with powerful abilities, but is unable to move. During this phase, he'll cast:
- Shadow blast, a high damage shadow attack with splash damage
- Flame burst, an AoE fire-based DoT that does splash damage
- Aura of dread does a high amount of shadow damage over time as well as increasing the damage taken by shadow spells (stacks)
- Maiev Shadowsong joins the fight -- and though we usually don't consider adds for fights, we're keeping Maiev in this fight because Illidan is just incredibly powerful. (And Maiev would be hunting him down whether he was in the Black Temple or not.)
- Illidan can Enrage, randomly.

We are going to remove two elements of the Twins encounter from this match: their use of adds in their room and their ability to heal each other when in close range. Illidan does not have a way to separate them during the fight and does not stand a chance with this ability intact. So consider this match up with no bugs and no proximity superheal.
Both Emperors have the following abilities:
- Twin Teleport: Every 30-40 seconds the twins switch places.
- Berserk: After 15 minutes, the twins will berserk dramatically increasing their damage output.
- Uppercut: Knocks back random target in melee range.
- Unbalancing Strike: Does high damage and reduces the target's defense for 6 seconds.
- Shadow Bolt: As expected, a single-target shadow damage attack.
- Blizzard: A frost AoE with a slow effect.
- Arcane Burst: An arcane AoE that knocks back and slows. Used whenever anyone is in melee range.

Even though we all know that Illidan would be facing C'Thun in the end, I'd say we change the future and make the Twins win this one, just for fun.

I think princess Huhuran has a good shot at defeating C'Thun to be honest. But that's another topic...

I think its dumb that they let illidan have his ability that reduces your hp to 60% (thats a lot of dmg delt) but they dont allow twin emps to heal at all.
Seems like they are just setting up the fight to make illidan win no matter what.

Illidan is one of the sweetest looking bosses in most video games

Illidan doesn't really look sweet in WoW

Er, sorry, but shear would just rip the twins to shreds. Even if illidan stupidly hit the melee-immune twin, non stop parasite spawning, draw soul, eye beam, etc would destroy the twins.
I seriously CANNOT see the twins winning this. Ever.

Twins would beat him because one can tie him down while the other sucker punchs him, Illy gets to go out Houdini style!

Illidan. I could not think of a more perfect character to defeat the twin emperors. he'd use his normal elf form to slice up the melee vulnerable twin, and his giant demon caster form to blast apart the magic vulnerable twin. even if they DID get allowed to use their proximity heal, Illidan could throw down his warglaives and use his fire elementals to keep them separated.

Is shear working here? Because I'd say that gives Illidan enough of a lead to kill them regardless of abilities.

Anytime the twins are near each other they spam heal each other, so unless illidan can keep them seperated they'd been invulnerable

While I don't necessarily agree with it, try reading.

If we aren't supposed to include auto-attack in the decision, i don't see how illidan kills the magic immune twin. All the special attacks are magic, and after 15 minutes he goes berserk and kills illidan.

I don't think anyone said auto-attack isn't included, and there's no reason why it shouldn't be. It's not a one hit kill abilitiy, and just about every boss is capable of it (even bosses like Shade of Aran do if you lock out all their spell schools).

I stand corrected; just looked at the *not looking at auto-attack dps* bit.
Which is just damn retarded. Illidan has all the non-auto-kill abilities to still beat the Twin Emps, but if you take out his autoattack + shear combo on Vek'nilash, he has pretty much no way to kill him as all the rest of his abilities are magical damage.
So the Twin Emps for my mind. Though Illidan should win. I'm giving this one completely to technicalities.

uhh...read the last paragraph right above the voting box. It says: "Some other things to remember about these death matches: we're not looking at autoattack dps, but special abilities when it comes to deciding the victor. "

"we're not looking at autoattack dps" I think this refers to the aspect that not simply the boss with more dps wins... Why would they not autoattack?

Yep, just corrected myself. =)
However, I totally do not agree with the decision to not include auto-attacks. I can't remember reading that note on any other two-bosses enter, but in this case it screams "we'll throw this in there so that Illidan *can't* win".

What happens if Illidan uses Shear twice in a row? Wouldn't that just kill someone instantly anyway?
And without the Heal, the twins would probably lose...They got nerfed for this fight.
