I hope everyone received all they had hoped for in WoW during this event, or you're in for a mighty long wait to try again. I personally received a number of scandalous dresses and fancy baskets over the course of the last few days. I don't have much to complain about this time around, except for the fact that it is always a little disappointing when one of Azeroth's many holidays comes to a close.
Even if the Valentine's Day holiday is quite fun in WoW, I still have a habit of wondering what could have been done better for any given event. I think it would have been great if voting for your favorite faction leader actually worked, and had some sort of effect. For example, if Tyrande winning for the day gave those that voted for her a buff. "Tyrande's Thanks" or "Sylvanas' Satisfaction" or somesuch. Even if it didn't do anything, having the buff would be really fun. Of course, I'm a big supporter of spells having extra sparkles just for the sake of having sparkles, so maybe only I would be interested in that. After all, Prayer of Mending turning into a laser gun kept me from quitting my priest early on in The Burning Crusade.

Hearing that Prayer of Mending is now a laser gun makes me want to keep playing my baby priest.
And I agree, I wish that the voting actually meant something, and a buff would be a nice touch. I would like something to show for my time running around flirting with guards and having them break my harloty heart.

I'm not disappointed with it being over, I'm disappointed with it being pointless to turn in the gift packs. Broken counters are bad Blizzard, they ruin the fun!

i got about 20 damn picnic baskets between my main and 4 toons and in the end i could not give them away! (i know they are BoP but you can trade them if you leave them in the Gift box)
All i wanted was a black dress as a present for my wife's main. not even a dress of any kind or a peddlefeet pet :-(
ah well. bring on brewfest - at least you can earn the stuff you want - the randomness of this makes the whole event pointless.

The turn in for the big collection quest was quite disappointing. After all that running around and begging people to cure my broken heart I got Love Rockets, Rose Petals, and Chocolates. Lame. That should have been a guaranteed fun item like the basket or the dress. I would like to see some St Patrick's Day fun too. I'm with you, Alex. I really enjoy the fun seasonal events even if your only reward is a cosmetic item or buff.
