Hello hungry readers! Welcome to this week's installment of Well Fed Buff. When the weather gets cold nothing hits the spot like Dragonbreath Chili. This recipe can be acquired from vendors in Dustwallow Marsh or Desolace and requires 200 skill in Cooking to create. For ten minutes after eating, the consumer occasionally belches a cone of flame. The effects of the real version are much longer lasting, but just as deadly.
Patience is the key to the perfect pot of Dragonbreath Chili. Well Sriracha is actually the key, but patience comes in handy. Be prepared to wait at least three hours for this recipe to come to fruition, and keep in mind that it is even better the next day. These instructions makes enough chili to feed a horde of Horde (or
1 Lb Mystery Meat (I use crumbled veggie burgers, but you might want to use ground beef)
1 Small Flame Sac (1/4 c. Sriracha)
1 Packet Hot Spices (2 Tbs Chili Powder, ½ Tsp each Red Pepper, White Pepper, Garlic Powder, and Cumin)
5 Jalapenos
1 Onion
1 28-Oz Can Crushed Tomatoes
1 28-Oz Can Diced Tomatoes
5 15.5-Oz Cans Beans (I use Chili Beans, Dark Red Kidney Beans, Light Red Kidney Beams, Black Beans, and Pinto Beans)
Directions:
1. Obtain the largest crock pot you can find and place on high setting.
2. Combine chopped onions and jalapenos* with Mystery Meat, Flame Sac, and Hot spices in crock pot.
3. Cook until meat is browned and veggies are tender. This will allow the flavors to mingle in the most deadly fashion.
4. Add tomatoes and beans. Keep chili on high setting until it comes to a deceptively happy simmer.
5. Reduce heat and enjoy!
6. Consume an over-the-counter antacid and have another bowl.
Serving Suggestions:
Remember that the focus of this recipe is spice. To reduce the perceived heat of this dish, garnish with sour cream, grated Fine Aged Cheddar, and chopped onions. Dragonbreath Chili is perfectly paired with a glass of Ice Cold Milk or a pint of Thunderbrew Ale depending on your audience.
* I cannot stress enough the importance of keeping your hands from your eyes in this step lest you need the services of a healer.

In case I am not the only one who has never heard of Sriracha: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sriracha
Summary: Sriracha is a type of hot sauce from Thailand, made from chili peppers, garlic, sugar, and salt. It looks to be sweeter and a little milder than Tabsco, from their wikipedia descriptions.

And also happens to be a great additive to any spaghetti sauce or taco meat. Mmmm.

I like Shelbi's version from The Bronze Kettle a little better, but I like the addition of the beans - I'm kind of indifferent on the topic of beans in chili.
They are a magical fruit after all, which is a major bonus. Unless that magic happens to make you belch fire, then that may not be so good...especially if you can't guarantee where the belching will come from ;)

That picture looks whacked! It took a moment for me to see that those weren't 'robot' arms extending from a crock ...it's like the jetson's over at that house.

Just a quick note: the original chili did not have beans in it. It was meat seasoned with chile peppers and sometimes onions. Chili con carne is actually backwards...if you go to a Texas chili house, you have to order Chili with beans!
Anyone know where I might be able to hunt down some of the Sriracha? It sounds good.
PS I like beans in my chili...I've eaten real chili and a bowl of meat with nothing else is a little strange to eat, lol.

Actually, wouldn't that make perfect sense? chili con carne translates to "chili(pepper) with meat"
ofcourse the popular abbreviation "chili" then leads to sillyness like "chilli sin carne" chili without meat (a term that fits the recipe in the article as it contains no meat)
But now I'm nitpicking here, like you I like my beans in my chili (and my meat) :)

Some people call Sriracha "rooster sauce". I call it cock sauce. Nobody can resist my cock sauce.
Looks like this is a very well fed buff, with enough to have leftovers in the morning when you're still raiding at 4 AM.

You are correct, GreatLich, chili con carne is actually referring to “peppers with meat”; what I was trying to say (not very well, heh) was most people say it thinking the “chili” part is the beans, when it’s actually the peppers and meat.
