Of course, if metal/rock doesn't win (and I suspect that it won't-- my guess is you all are a pretty eclectic crowd), then the question remains just why all that crazy rock keeps showing up in your PvP vids anyway.

My guess is that you don't see a lot of Enya or soft pop music in vids, because how 'hard core' could you be with that music in your vid? Just another layer to strokin' your epeen by including the most obnoxious song you can find.

Which is why I'm going to make a video at some point, to something like that. Just to throw people off.
Maybe say... Karabor supplicants to ... mike oldfield.

First person to do an awesome PVP video (or at least point me to one) to either Johnny Cash or the classic fight music of West Side Story wins.

Gotta say, I listen to a lot of music, and none of it is metal. I listen to quite a bit of jazz, electronica, classical, rock, rap, pop, j-pop, j-rock, and classic rock. I think it's just that metal seems to fit PvP vids well.

I listen to Neuroticfish when I grind--helps take the mind off the repetition. I tend to keep the game music on when instancing, etc, 'cause it's generally really good.

I think metal and rock need to be in two different categories.
As it is, the current categorization includes everything from Slayer to Fall Out Boy, and i think people who listen to either, wouldn't say that they like the other.
Anyways, as I see it, for the average demographic (15-28) that plays WoW, Rock/Metal is the dominant category across the states, "techno" and all the categories that fall under it seem like the same percentage as those who listen to it in the entire 15-28 age group (everyone, not just wow players), and i would suspect that most people who put "other" are gonna be going for the college rock/indie grouping, which is why i put other. Which is about right.
Basically all I'm saying is that theres no real difference between the musical tastes of those who play WoW and those who dont.

Oh. Next time, put a Radiohead category, along with the other genres. I know i'd place my vote there =D

Man, Rock is rocking out to the tune of 50+% so far. Looks like he's right!
As for the other six jazz fans here, oh yeah. Stay cool.

Well that seems to be a pretty obvious outcome.
Is there a reason for this?
Personally, I think most Metalheads / Hardrockers are looking for some fun behind their PC's, smashing and blasting other players to pieces like we let ourselfs go in a mosh-pit.
But in the end, it's all for good fun, same as the pits.
Besides that, I think most Metalheads see WoW as an escape of real life, just playing something without the trouble of it.

You need to separate metal from rock. It's like grouping white noise and music. ;-)
