Network outages started plaguing the realms late Saturday night, with connection issues across all US realms. It appears to be a network issue, preventing many, but not all players from connecting to the servers. (So if you were wondering why you were the only one who showed up for your guild's late night raiding session, that would be why.) The forums are offline as well, so the only official information we have from Blizzard comes from the breaking news box on the login screen, shown right, which gives us no ETA but thanks us for our patience.
Update, 1:22 AM EST: The breaking news box has been updated, telling us that there's an issue with AT&T's network. Blizzard is in contact with AT&T and waiting on an ETA for resolution. We should have an update on status within the next 30 minutes (as of the time of this writing, quite soon), but for those of you on the east coast, this probably means it's time to go to bed.
Update, 1:28 AM EST: Though there's no official update from Blizzard, authentication is working for at least some players. (Read: my Shattered Halls group is back at it. You can 3-man Shattered Halls, right?) The realms haven't been offline through this period, so you should be able to pick up right where you left off. (Presuming you can get back online.)

Well I hope they fix the issue, cause I want my WoW fix! It's taken me 2 days to install WoW after a format (I dont know why, nor can I be bothered finding out why it took so long). I just want to play :(

I feel bad for those who got disconnected. Only 4 of my guildies including me stayed online. Chicago Illinois FTW.

Was wondering why Shatner City suddenly emptied out and the AV Queues suddenly went dead - seems like everything is back now.

I've been trying to upgrade some stuff on my server - pulling my hair out 'cause I couldn't seem to get PEAR to connect to anything and update, so in my frustration I jumped on WoWInsider to read up on Drood stuff, and I find out the reason for my problem here! Thanks, WI!

I've never been disconnected before... until last night. Right now I'm on top of a boss in ST, and I'm only level 45... shit.

Funny thing was, I took a break to get ready for bed, and watch some TV with my girlfriend. By the time I had gotten back online, it was as if nothing ever happened. /shrug Good timing, I guess. :)

We were 50% into the Gruul fight, everything going as planned, when the server disconnected. Ugh.

This disconnect did some weird things for me, on Medivh. I was in the middle of a fight with an Etherium in Netherstorm and noticed none of my commands were going through... then I saw all timers were stalled. I was about to walk away from the fight, but was still in combat pose. Many other players around me were stalled, running in place, fighting never ending battles. I ran to Area 52 and found it empty, no npcs. Anything interactive was missing as well, no mailbox, no forge, no flightmaster. I seemed to be the only player character running around, still in battle stance... interesting, but pretty boring with nothing to interact with! I took a screenshot, and logged off, just as the disconnected from server mssg came up. Heh. Gotta love software glitches.

That's what happens when you get disconnected, yours just lasted a little longer. I was like that for 10 sec the first time, 5 min the second.
