Tigole has been busy on the forums today, and that always tends to bring out interesting tidbits about the future of our favorite game. While it is certainly not earth-shattering, the most interesting thing that he mentions has to do with the future of the PVP battlemasters. In patch 2.4 these guys will be put on a pedestal, literally. Much like the auctioneers in many cities, the battlemasters will be placed on a raised platform that is inaccessible to players in order to keep people from blocking them with their character's model. He also hints that Wrath will see even better improvements. This is certainly a welcome change to remove a minor annoyance that is sometimes imposed upon us by our fellow players.
Other posts hint at the future of guild banks, the title system, and a possible reward for Wrath's Lake Wintergrasp. First of all, he mentions that they're "exploring" the option to allow guild masters to set prices for items in the guild bank. I know in my guild this would be great for the guild leader, since it would probably save him a lot of time in the auction house and also provide an easy solution to those situations where he gets a valuable item and is not sure how to distribute it to the rest of the guild. I imagine that this could be exploited, to an extent, by guild leaders who might suddenly slap a price on everything in the bank rather than allowing free withdrawals, but that would probably fix itself over time as people leave the guild and/or stop donating to the bank.
In another thread, Lexorn wonders if WoW could steal a few cool ideas from some of its competitors. Specifically, he mentions the ubiquitous title system from Lord of the Rings Online, the town capture and defense system from Tabula Rasa, and the tome system from Warhammer (which seems to be an in-game encyclopedia that the player fills in while traversing through the game world). From all these ideas, Tigole only touches on the first. He mentions that they like the title system as it is and will continue to add titles to the game with their current difficult to obtain status. I've loved the titles from other games I've played and would like to see something of the sort added to WoW. If there were a lot of titles, elite ones could still be part of the game and players would know which ones were more difficult to achieve. It doesn't seem like it would detract from the "Scarab Lord" title to have several "Exterminators", rewarded for killing 1,000,000 critters, running around.
Later in that same thread, Tigole responds to another player's post. When Endarken suggests that capturable PVP objectives should grant a server-wide buff in order to feel more epic, Tigole agrees. He hints that just such a reward may be given for holding Lake Wintergrasp, the outdoor PVP zone in Wrath of the Lich King. These types of buffs are always nice, and if it brings more people out to participate in world PVP, I'm all for it.
What do you think about Tigole's comments?

You can always check Wowblues.com to see what the latest blue has said on the forums. Right now Tigole's comments are on the 2nd page in the main overview (undoubtedly to be shifted as time moves on).

Ditto to this--it's poor journalism to link to wowwiki. I don't care to see Tigole's picture, I do care to see what he is saying *now*. Please correct this, as well as the link for "forum". I don't care to see the general wow forum selection page, I want to know where Tigole is posting specifically.

So I need to run through the other 3 paragraphs clicking all the crap links that take me to WoWwiki and the Armory? By the time I get to where it's actually linked, I'm tired of clicking links and closing windows that have little, if nothing, to do with what's being linked. They might as well just make every word a link, find something on the internet that relates to that word, then link to it. It's the same end result.

It's called hovering your mouse over the link and checking the statusbar for the destination _before_ you click...

Heck yes on pedestals. About frickin' time, even. I hope they do the same for the arena masters; I'm tired of trying to click through giant afk cows.

I'd love to see an in-game pricing interface for the guild banks.
I don't know if everyone else's guilds just operate on a hippy love system, but ours has a pretty normal policy of "you get nothing until you contribute either in gold towards repairs/tabs/etc or in items that other people could use".
The only thing I could see this going wrong with, is if the only way you can pay is with money, and depositing an item doesn't give you a corresponding amount of credit with the bank. It'd be a pretty complex system, I know my guild has a thread with values in it. It kinda works like DKP I suppose, but this is useful to everyone at any time. Nothing is priced as if you'd sell it on the AH for maximum profit, but at the same time the guild realizes that you can get a lot more people willing to throw away an hour a week farming primals if they're getting some tangible value in return, instead of just putting them on the AH and donating a small portion of the cash to the bank... or putting them in the bank and hoping there's something around when they need it.

Yeah, there's really no reason to link back to your own website 50 times in a post. We are here already... no need to advertise. And I'm sure any monkey can find the information on wowinsider you're linking to. You see... there's these things called "tags" at the bottom of your post.... all 30 of them.

Thank god for pedestals! The amount of times people just stand on top of the battlemasters is amazing. I have asked people to move before because i just can't find the quest giver! Its even worse when they go AFK.
They should do the same for the DM faire sellers as that is another problem with people parking on top of them.
Also all mounts should been banned from the battlemaster area, ever seen how much room a Kodo takes up!

I think that the best way to get people to pvp in lake winterspring is to put battlemasters near the place on some pretext like "we need you in other parts of the world to"

Silly question, but why do we have to visit a battlemaster at all ? They have a LFG button why not a PVP Button as well. That way you could be sitting on a floating island in Nagrand and join your favorite BG without having to deal with the AFKers parking their Netherdrakes on the NPC...Just a thought

It always confuses me when people can't seem to click on the battlemaster because of the crowd. As a healer I have health bars displayed all the time, but if you don't, just hit ctrl-v to display them, and then click on the battlemaster's health bar to talk to him. Problem solved.
Sadly, this does not work with mailboxes.
