In fact this happened last night. I was LFG for WSG premades for about an hour. Than about 15 minutes before bedtime a I saw "WSG Premade with 200+ resil LF any healers." come across the trade channel. I quickly sent a "/w inv me" to the premade leader. We ran ABs and WSG for 2 hours and made like 5k honor simply rolling over anyone in our path. Now I am going on 4 hours sleep and 2 cups of coffee. I can't wait to do it all over again.

Premades can definitely make you forget what time it is. Gotta love EOTS, 2000-0, 5 min wins :)

lol i got home yesterday at midnight from RL work and logged in to finish dailies that should have taken at most 45 min. so i would log off at 1am and get 9 hours before having to return to work right. well running up zanger seems the farmers were not there today so i proceeded to farm zanger for ore. then made my way up to BEM for dailies and farmed it for ore then i did my round and farmed some more ore. ended up with 3 stacks of Ada, 5 stacks of Fel, a stack of Korh and Eter each and logged at 4am. at least i have blacksmithing regents now.....

ah yes the old "just one more mob, one more quest, one more vein/herb node" problem.

my problem is Guild raid nights followed by "just a quick" dungeon run. Last wednesday we downed gruul and got to chess in kara and it was only when five of our team lost it as they ran into a room full of trash, despite being told not to three times, that we called it as they were clearly suffering from sleep deprivation and or lack of concentration!!!!!

happens to me all the time - i accept my addiction and continue.

this is the only way to get better "sic".

Sometimes it'll happen in an instance.

"Just one more try" turns into "we had him at 1%, just one more try" turns into "I was lagging, just once more" turns into "my cooldowns are up now, let's give it another go" turns into ... then you realize you're looking down the barrel of two hours before you have to be to work.

But it's not nearly as bad as when I play CivIV, the series that originated the "Just one more ..." syndrome.

In the old honor system, I worked my way all the way to rank 14 while trying to maintain a full time job. At about midway through rank 13, I was fired from that job for sleeping at work. Nuff said.

I know I have the type of personality where I'll keep playing, so I set a timer or alarm to let me know I need to be logging off. My cellphone has an alarmclock in it and it's annoying and persistant. It will beep for a minute, snooze itself for 5 minutes and keep going off ever 5 minutes until you pick up the phone and shut it off. So I have an alarm set for bedtime every night and set the phone out of reach. So in order to shut the alarm off I have to set the laptop on the table and go over to my phone, thus breaking my concentration and my "gotta do one more _____" mentality.
If I ever get fired from a job because of a game, I'll stop playing that game (hasn't happened yet).

I have experienced a few changes to my WoW time lately - my wife began playing and I started a website for my guild. The unintended impact has been that now I have an alt I have to play when duoing with my wife and I get caught up in site registrations, updates, etc. The result has been an increased amount of stress and a reduction in my own progression. However I must admit that I like my new roles:)

Oh yeah- "the just one more thing".. I didn't understand WOW when my kids first started playing it; I'd yell "Quit NOW! your time is up!" only to be told, "But Mom, I have to (fillin the blank with: turn in a quest, get two more guys, find one more herb, get to a safe inn...), and then I'll quit!"

So it was only when I finally rolled a character and started playing did I understand. And only when we tried to run Wailing Caverns with 6 people did I understand the throwing yourself against the bosses one last time (armor in shreads, all weapons busted) and five hours later you realise you can't even see straight......

The next day people were inviting me to run WC and I kept saying NO- spent 5 or 6 hours in there the other night.....

Not a horror story, exactly, but my kids were saying, "I told you so!"

I have never had this happen, but I have had the experience of thinking only about 15 minutes had passed when it had really been closer to 3 hours!

It felt like when you driving on a long road trip and suddenly you are several miles down the road, and you don't remember getting there.

I logged on one night, started playing, decided to log off after what I thought had been just a few hours. Knocked on my son's bedroom door to tell him to turn off the light and go to sleep, no answer. Opened the door, no son, in fact all his stuff was gone and the room was filled with baby stuff, crib and such. Long story short, turns out I had been playing for three years straight. My son has graduated high school and is in his second year of college. My wife has left me for my brother and she's eight months pregnant.

I think I'll go log in for a few more hours.

Most time loss is usually due to an instance run for me. I remember one night my brother and I joined a group for ST around 10 PM. We were doing fine till the tank thought it was a good idea to go play his piano instead of playing, we found this out when another member of the group (I think it was one of his friends) said he could hear him playing it. We didn't get done till around 2 AM. Its not that much of a time loss, but we could have been done a lot earlier.

Pre BC a friend of mine played so much he fell asleep during an MC run, not so bad but he fell asleep on his keyboard and proceeded to charge headlong into shaz whilst the rest of his group wailed for him to stop to no avail! Funny as hell!
