WoW Insider is looking for new blood
As World of Warcraft only gets more and more popular, we have more and more news to cover. We're looking for new bloggers to add to our site as well one new columnist. If you want to get paid to write about the game, read on!
For bloggers, we want at least one who can write a minimum of 25 posts a month on the weekends. We're also looking for bloggers that can post all through the week at least 50 times a month (2-3 posts/day). Preference will be given to those who can post heavily on Saturday/Sunday.
For the columnist position, we are looking for a high level Mage to contribute to our weekly class feature Arcane Brilliance. You don't have to be a hard core raider, but some raid experience would be an advantage.
For all open positions, we are looking for people who are passionate about the game and can write articles that are both informative and entertaining. See our application page for instructions on how to apply. The deadline for this round of applications is this extended to Monday, December 17 at 11:59pm PST.
EDIT: Deadline extended to Monday due to current mail delivery issues.

I sorta wondered if the dearth of posts during the last couple days meant that most of this site's writers have final exams. (lalz)

Part of the reason that the site has been a little more quiet then normal is that AmandaR, former voice behind Arcane Brilliance, is no longer writing for WoW Insider. I know that she was responsible for several posts per day, and her absence can definitely be felt.
This does, however, open up an opportunity for a new Arcane Brilliance writer. So to all those that commented negatively on her posts in the past, now is your chance to step up and take the column over as your own. I am eager to see who is brave enough to rise to the challenge. I assure you, writing an intelligent, knowledgeable and entertaining Mage column once a week is not as easy as it sounds.

I'm a casual who reads forums, but I also have two other paying blogs and a full time job that blocks my access to pretty much everything.

Somehow we have four level 70 rogues on staff but are having trouble coercing any of them into writing about rogues. We also have two level 70 priests (as well as a raid/healing columnist we hope to have on board soon). Obviously, the beatings will continue until morale improves.
Put another way... We have the staff to write both Encrypted Text and Spiritual Guidance on a regular basis, but it's a matter of getting the people who can do it coordinating their efforts on a regular schedule.
This is not to say we wouldn't be interested in writers who play either of these classes and were interested in writing about them. However, that's not our focus for this call-out.

A new Hunter column would be nice... I'd apply, but I'm currently only level 51 and therefore worthless.

Sure, I'll make an application.
The only thing I love more than playing WoW is talking/writing about it, my main is a mage and its surely my favourite class.
Expect an incoming app from this belf mage, wowinsider!

This certainly sounds like a load of fun to me, and I'm still considering it... but I'm afraid my lack of over-the-top theorycrafting skills would create a whole lot of ire from fellow readers D: Is it possible to write a column about playing the game, having alts, and raiding, without being in an end-game guild wearing epics and legendaries, and running 8 different addons to optimize DPS?

Why exactly would you want to write a column about being mediocre? Must people can manage that without the advice of a columnist ;)

If applying as mage writer - will that be 25 weekend posts or 50 weekday posts only about mages each month?
I have a few ideas for some nice posts, but not sure I can keep'em coming in that amount. :-)
