There's a good little tip on the forums for anyone starting out a Horde alt (maybe to take advantage of the new leveling changes)-- do your 10-20 grind in Tranquilien. As long as you're thorough, you can pretty easily get exalted with Tranquilien (the rep flows freely), and there are some incredible rewards for doing so. Tranquilien Champion's Cloak is the best you can get, and +7 Stamina inside of level 20 is amazing.Just shows how far Blizzard has come in rewarding up and coming players with the items they need to level faster. You've always been able to get rep from other starting areas, and these rewards have been around since Burning Crusade (so this is only news if you're just now starting another alt). But it's cool to look back on all these changes-- increased rep per quest, a new starting area, and better reputation rewards, and see how they all work together to give lowbie characters lots more fun stuff to play with.

Yup, I'm trying to level my second shaman (Tauren) in the Belf zones, and it's going well so far. The only problem is that all the shaman quests are back in Durotar & the Barrens, and there aren't any shaman trainers in Silvermoon (though for some reason they stuck a drood trainer in there).

You know, funny that you should post this. I just picked up the game again a week ago and started a new toon (a belf) and by the time I reached 15 I was tired of Tranquilien. I went to the Barrens looking for not only a bit more PvP adventure but also the clear, bright simplicity of the place. At least I can see where Im going.
While I think that the Ghostlands is impressive and creative, visually speaking (not to mention a healthy number of quests) the darkness and confusion of the imagery there really made me strain to make sense of where I was going, and what (mobs) I was running into.
Yeah I could just crank the gamma but, well... I have principles you know.

I'd like to know why there isn't the Alliance equivalent of it. Doesn't that seem unfair? Or is there something equal I haven't heard about?

Exactly my thoughts, Ladli. All of my Horde alts make the trip to Tranq. but after leveling a Draenei through their respective starting areas, I have no interest in going back there.

People complain when the factions are too similar, and they complain when they're too different. Not everyone can be pleased.

You do get a tabard for completing the Draenei starting zone, though that might be Draenei-only. Still, it's a nice reward, one you'll probably use more than the cape in the end.

Well, it's true that the Draenei get a cool tabard (which i still wear, since it looks great on a blue skin :P) but that tabard doesn't give you 7 stamina! :O

I never got a tabard -I must not have completed the quests thoroughly?

I certainly wouldn't call it Tranquilien "grind". If all grinds in WoW were like this one I would probably grind all day long :)

More evidence that blizzard plays horde but didn't we all know that by now anyway?

Yeah, I was ticked to find out that Horde had a rep with a really nice reward and Alliance did not. What were they thinking? Is it really so hard to come up with a reputation? Why wouldn't Alliance newbies want/need to get a feel for reputation?

It wouldn't have been that hard at all. Draenei already do quests for a group of furbolgs. Make it a faction, give them a quartermaster, and you're done.

Just started an Orc Shaman last weekend. Actually staying out of Tranquilien, I prefer the Barrens if only for the class quests being there as well as the scenery being more fitting for Orcs. Levelling gear is being replaced quickly enough anyway, unless you intend that char to be a pvp twink.

How many alts that you know of don't have the Cape of the Brotherhood? I haven't played many horde, but as far as I know there was nothing like this at low levels horde side.

Cape of the Brotherhood is a normal instance drop that requires a bit of luck and a group to complete. Getting to exalted with Tranquillien is just a matter of doing quests to lvl up from 10 to 20 which you will do anyway (maybe not in the Ghostlands, but for me Ghostlands > Barrens at any time) so getting this cape doesn't cost you any additional effort.

The Horde have this faction to make up for the fact that the Alliance have the Wintersaber Trainers faction with no Horde equivalent (good luck grinding for that mount, even after the improved rep returns).

Why would the horde want an equivalent to that? It is like satan covered in human feces, the grind that is... or maybe the belf zone I'm not sure.

Anyway us space-cows get lose in our starting area.
