WoW Moviewatch: Netherwing - The Movie
Continuing our spotlight of the top movies in Warcraft Movie's Fabled Few contest, today we have something special for those of you suffering from extended server downtime: a fifteen minute movie.
Why would you want to watch a 15 minute machinima piece? Because this one is very, very well done. Story, script, music, cinematography, sound effects, you name it. This movie has got it. It ended up placing 2nd in the Drama category, only beaten by Black Rose.
Netherwing - The Movie dramatizes the event surrounding the Netherwing faction quest in game. And for once, doesn't use the Blood Elf model to make the race look like a bunch of prancing idiots. Part 1 is above, and part 2 of the movie is after the jump.
If you want to know more about the film maker and his other projects, check out his blog at Stormscape Creations.

Really good machinima that was. Loved the concept, and the storytelling was great. Only thing I disliked was the voice acting; if it sounded more professional I'd bet it would have won. I mean, the winner had a very lame storyline.
Hope stormscape creations makes more good stories! :D Missing diplomat might be amusing.

Gay slam? Are you sure you are commenting on the right post? Where are you getting the gay part from?

I really don't think 'prancing' was meant to be a 'gay slam' if that's what you're referring to. It refers to someone dancing about or being very spirited, which is most highly demonstrated by the portrayal of Kael'thas in Azerothian Supervillians. (Not bashing that, I adore him in it.) Most portrayals of male blood elves in these movies do that, which is certainly justified by the blood elf jokes in game (I need a scrunchy anyone?) but it's definitely fun to see them portrayed as serious. I mean, come on, everyone knows that Hobbs in Shadowmoon Valley kicks butt. :) Out of all the escorts (besides the Aldor equivalent, and one consortium quest I can think of) he's the only one who bothers to bring out an army with him, and when he dies, it's only from a bunch of demonic orcs on dragons.

If i have to point it out to , every single instance across the last 10 articles - means that there is no point. You don't get it, you never will.

Well, considering I have in my life been in male/male sexual relationships, I think perhaps you're inventing this. Prancing does not mean gay, it means prancing. If you can't come up with better or don't deign to, then why make the comment in the first place?

Prancing in this column, queer in 2 columns , "Blood elf lacking manliness" in a third. The voice acting is the stereotyped lisping queen as seen on tv and movies.
Good enough? Or more spoonfeeding.
Oh, how about the new catchphrase in comments "That's so non-heterosexual". Oh wait, I *must* be mistaken, that's not a gay slam.....
By the way, if you are indeed in a male/male relationship, why couldnt you type gay relationship..

I said I was in such a relationship once. I am currently married to a woman. I'd say I was bisexual, but I've had bad experiences with people denying that one can actually be bisexual.
Prancing, as I've indicated, does not mean gay.
Show me where queer was used in a column, please. Link to it. The word queer can simply mean strange, and without context I can't make a judgement.
"Lacking manliness' doesn't have anything to do with one's sexuality. I myself an a large, hirsuite, bearded man often refered to as 'bearlike' but I'm still bi, and one of my best friends growing up is extremely effeminate and yet still heterosexual.
You're grasping at straws. I would like to know why.

...AAAND back to the movie ...
... which seemed pretty cool. (Mordenai has always been intriguing.) Wish the sound mix had dialed back the music a bit, as the dialog was hard to hear.

I think that this is what Esumiwa was referring to, though if that's considered a "gay slam" . . . well, let's just hope this was a mis-comment and was intended for some other blog post.

I really enjoyed that movie, as I have had two characters go through the Netherwing grind. I am also one who loves the Dramatization of quests, making them into grand events, so this was definitely cool for me. /cheer

I'm not sure how the narrator's voice makes this POST have "gay slams" (btw, I really hate this term, but it's Esumiwa's term, so I might as well use it).
Esumiwa, male/male doesn't mean gay, it means male/male. Anyone who seems as hung up on specific wording as you do should know that they are different and nuanced. Furthermore Esumiwa, don't you also know better that gender performance is just one of many aspects of someone's sexuality, and that saying something is "lacking manliness" has really little bearing on their sexual interests?
Shame on you and your hatemongering, Esumiwa. Being outraged and being intelligent are not mutually exclusive concepts, despite your best attempts to keep them as such. Keep your trolling to the WoW boards and off of my WoW Insider.

Or maybe im not afraid of calling a spade a spade.
Gee, is that the best you heteros can do? attack me. LOL
That's just so hetero.
