We heard a long time ago that Arena 1 sets would be purchaseable with battleground honor and marks, and it looks like tomorrow's the day-- all those marks and honor you've been saving up will be able to get you some Arena PvP gear.We posted prices a while back as well, but just in case you missed them, here they are again, at Curse's website. The full list of prices is after the jump-- lots of people will probably be headed for the weapons, but make sure to bring lots of honor and marks. While the offhand weapons are the least pricey (at 9k honor), the marks are probably what will break people-- you need 20 Eye of the Storm marks for all the one-hand weapons, and 40 AB marks for the two handers. Librams, relics and totems are the cheapest-- only 8k honor and 10 EotS marks.
The full list is printed for your convenience after the break. Got honor? If you want to grab some of that season 1 gear tomorrow, you're gonna need it.

Warning - typos in the price list (typos were in the source this is copied from).
40 AB marks / 40 AV marks - Big differance.

Um, how about posting the prices for the armor pieces too in the body of the main posts? I'm interested in the weapons, but nearly everyone I know is generally more interested in the ARMOR.

My question to anyone still stands! I'm going into S3 fresh at 70. With the honor that I rack up (16k in the bank) and the alebeit miniscule amount of arena points i'll get (2v2 BM hunter / Frost Mage) what should I go for first?
Aim to not replace anything, so start with the 3 pieces of vindicator from the honor system?
Go for fast pieces like shoulders / gloves (2 set bonus, 2 epics, glove bonus).
Save it all for S1 Xbow (might have the largest net impact on DPS, but not on survivability....other option is to hold onto Valanos)

What I did for my rogue was to analyze each item on a +upgrade per honor point (or arena point) basis. Using shadowpanther.net, I can easily get a rating system for PVE (DAEP) or PVP (AEP), calculate the upgrade amount (eg. +21 DAEP and +30 AEP) for a single item, and then divide by the cost (eg. 14,500 honor points).
Now you have a list of ratios in terms of the "strength" of the upgrade per honor or arena point, and you can then decide which items are the best deal for you and your gear. For me, I want items which are upgrades for both PVE and PVP simultaneously. Therefore, I'm planning on buying the Vindicator's Bracers and the Gladiator's Chestpiece tomorrow because they offer the best bang for my honor point buck. I'm also going to buy the S2 offhand dagger because it's cheap and it's the best offhand dagger in the game outside of SSC or TK or BT (and there are still Karazhan/Zul'Aman mainhand daggers which would be an upgrade).
Unfortunately, as far as I know, the non-rogue classes don't have easy PVE and PVP formulas to rate gear. If you can figure that out, you're 90% there. You could still calculate upgrade (or downgrade) ratios for each stat for a given piece, and then come up with your own formulas for PVP and PVE for your spec I guess...in that case, Excel is your friend.

Personally, I think it depends on whether you're grabbing arena gear as "charity epics" to raid/instance with, or for moving up the ladder in arena. If you're doing it for the sake of better arena ratings, etc, I'd say go for the item(s) that give you the biggest upgrade to survivability first. Nothing beats resil+stam in arena imo =P

I believe this is the source the price list was copied from.
Some weapons need 40 AV marks - not the 40 AB marks in the text above. (I only checked the items im interested in / not sure if the rest of the quality of the transcription of the rest of the list)

Wands are the same cost as the Librams/Totems/Relics (I assume throwing weapons are the same as well.)

Nah, no way, the marks are not the bottle neck here, it's the honor. I am sitting at 75000 honor and I have 100 AV, AB, EotS and 91 WSG. It's so much easier getting the marks than the points.

I wish they'd do away with the specific marks for each battleground and go to generic marks instead that would be the same from any battleground. That way you could actually play the battleground you like (or hate the least) instead of being forced into a specific one.

Im glad they are doing this. I havent wanted to PvP in a while, and so my alt warlock had been sitting there with honor and AV marks, which now I can spend on the helm and hand armor. Hopefully this will recharge my PvP interest.

I'm sitting at 45k honor, which I guess means I get 3 pieces of S1 to go with my single piece of S3 that I can afford. not a bad way to start S3 with a fresh rating and some actual resil on my gear.
between queues for AV tonight I guess I should go through and see just how many points of improvement over my frozen shadoweave the gear adds... and potentially revise my choices but I'm pretty much clocking 15k honor/week because of the daily BG quests, so anything I don't get tomorrow I'll have by the end of the year if all goes well...
Hooray season 3!

He's in the Champion's Hall, same guy who used to sell the Marshal's Gear - at least he is on the PTR.
