My roommate and I have already set up our guild, should make it much easier to consolidate all our extra mats and such. Can't wait for this patch to come out!

Clearly everyone's going to be doing this and it's going to cause a whole heap of frivolous guild invites, etc., and drive us all insane. It seems like Blizzard either ought to remove the requirement for guilds to have 10 signatures, or make it so that the bank doesn't operate with less than 10 accounts active in it, don't you think?

I am planning to make a guild to free up a couple of the 4 mules I have atm. I wonder if rewards of 16 slot bags will be useful in bribery?

yes cant wait for the guild banks. already even have all the officers bank alts in a guild for the banking of specifics.

I actually find it easyer to keep alts... I don't have to go into a town with a bank nearly as offen because I park my alts close to the bank/mailbox in ORg. It actually works out to my advantage to do it this way since I use the alts to keep (or get from the AH) anything I may need while away from the bank, and just mail it too me when I need it.

I mailed myself bloodstones for the barren's buffs, sent off raw ore to be smelted and AHed in Thunder Bluff, and used my bank alt to have higher level potions made with herbs I picked with my main. (Midlevel alcamists are normaly vary happy to make a potion for a XP, and tips.)

The only problem is I been tempted to start leveling my alts before there time... All my charicter now have a first aid of 80, have learned or in the prosses of learning cooking to 125, and can fish up to 100. And the three charicter that made it past level ten have profession rating of over 100. THat won't be a bad thing, when it comes time to level a new charicter... but right now it slows my main's level progress, and at level 32 I don't have epic mount money yet.

Thankfully, my main is a warlock.

I'm keeping my 3 bank alts, and linking them all together by a guild. Thus "Guildless Bank Alts" guild was born. It will allow me easier access in moving items between my sales bank alt & my storage bank alt.

Chances are Blizzard will make a move on this before 2.3 comes out. Why spend 36.1g on the bank bag slots, plus the 20 slot bags to get 104 spaces when for 11g you could start a guild, open a guild bank slot and get 98 slots?

Either they will up the early bank slot prices (100g isn't too much for a Karazhan guild), or make guild banks only useable by guilds with more than 5 or 10 accounts joined.

Guild bank prices changes
I don't know how old is this change, but the price for guild banks slot has been changed. The price of first slots has been increased to prevent alt guilds banks, and the price of the last slots has been decreased. It now costs 9 350 gold to buy all slots instead of 16 111 gold.

1st slot - 100 Gold
2nd slot - 250 Gold
3rd slot - 500 Gold
4th slot - 1000 Gold
5th slot - 2500 Gold
6th slot - 5000 Gold


SO my math says....

24 bank + 7 slots with 14 bags = 122 slots for 111g [no cost of bags added]


1 gbank slot = 98 [100g]
2nd = 196 [350g]
3rd = 294 [850g]

So. 850g too much.

350g for 196 slots versus 111g for 122 slots [or 2 alts @ 222g for 244slots].

Hey, I'm excited about getting hundreds of extra storage slots too -- but in order to get it, I have to accept that *EVERY single Warcraft account holder* is now going to try to start a fake personal guild. It just seems like that's going to cause a lot of headache, particularly for newbies who are looking for real guilds... and for the rest of us, with the spammed guild invites, ads in trade channel, etc., etc. If Blizzard is going to demand 10 separate account signatures to start a guild, it means they think guilds should not be easily or frivolously started by individuals... so to me, the guild bank should likewise require 10 separate accounts to be active... if the number drops below 10, they should lock the bank contents until at least 10 accounts sign on again.

#14, I think your math is a little off, because you aren't factoring in the banker/GL into the equation. The guild bank slots aren't replacing the existing core banker (who is in their own guild, so probably not a fun character to progress). You've got their personal bags, bank, bank bags, etc., plus whatever you want to invest in extras. I have three bankers right now, and this means I can free up two whole character slots by consolidating it down to one banker and two purchased guild bank tabs. Well worth the 250g in my opinion, because now I have room for more characters at the expansion. I imagine the folks at Blizzard have actually considered the fun of the game, not just people taking advantage of expanded storage.

And for #15, sure there will be a lot of activity over the next month and after the patch as people realize how this can benefit them, but it'll die down. So what if there's a million frivolous guild tags out there? Not like we pay taxes for them...yet. And I know a number of single-player guilds already, or some limited to five or less people, for folks that don't want the harassment of being unguilded, but want to stay as a private group. Should they be punished and kept from having a guild bank because they haven't stocked their ranks with people they don't want or need to have around?
