Yesterday a new build of
patch 2.3 went live on the PTRs, and while the blues don't seem to have updated the patch notes, World of Raids has
the full scoop on the changes. Here's what's new:
- 5 new PvP trinkets, available for 30k honor plus 40 AV marks from the honor vendors, or for 75 Badges of Justice from G'eras (man, that guy's item list is getting long).
- A new Priest talent in Discipline, called Focused Will (see screenshot). It sits right next to Power Infusion, and has no specific prerequisite.
- The Retribution Paladin season 3 arena set, Gladiator's Vindication, has had its spell damage stats replaced with physical damage stats.
- The Restoration Druid season 3 arena set, Gladiator's Refuge, has had its recently-added spirit reverted back to mp5.
- "The new pvp daily quest now rewards 11g99s and
4192 honor (up from about 2000) Edit: this was a typo, apparently on Blizzard's part. The actual reward is 400 honor, but it no longer rewards marks of honor."
- Zul'Aman's starting event "improved"
- It is no longer possible to have both a PvP title and a PvE title at the same time.
- The fish-tracking manual has been found (fished up), as well as an item that starts a (currently bugged) fishing quest.
- Many ZA weapons and armor pieces have been recolored.
For more details on all of this, bounce on over to
World of Raids. What do you guys think of Focused Will? It looks a little weak to me for being that deep in the tree (not to mention its name is distractingly similar to Force of Will). Obviously a PvP talent. Arena fiends, will you be taking it?

That was a scheduling issue, it happens from time to time. We're live on the home page now, as you can see :)

My thoughts on Focused Will.
WTF? Okay, on first glance it'd be a great talent for a PvP Disc Priest that is healing, but isn't the point of stacking Resilience a preventative measure against being critically struck or at least reducing the chance of it happening? Any decent Arena priest is going to be maxed on Resilience.
In such cases, it seems a waste of 3 talent points.

Interesting note, according to priests that have been testing this taent, and research done on reducing damage from critical strikes leads to a interesting discovery...
Damage from a critical blow is hard capped at 25% (via resilence). So, this talent, if the research is sound, would mean 5% of the reduced damage from criticals isn't factored in, since 30% is over the 25% cap for it...

@3: A few patches back, Blizz made sure that any talents/abilities that are triggered by being crit will trigger by the same rate that they would if you had no resilience.

Ah, that explains it. All those patch notes look the same time after time.

Holy crap! 4.2k honor?! That means I can get the honor for my MH in about 3 days combined with the regular honor earned with one BG a day!!!

Daily PVP quests just involve winning a BG ( it changes day by day )

Mmmm... AV seems to be the best BG for me... if we can have an AV once every four days, win, then it seems we could ring up very good honor totals

So, as a disc/holy priest, this talent would... let other people heal me if I suffer a crit??? If I'm taking any damage, there's a problem already.
What I want is some serious mana regen. How about if I crit on a heal the heal costs 50% less mana? Or a new talent HoT? In heroics I just spam flash heals as fast as I can or the tank goes down. How about something that increases my mp5? Circle of healing's rarely used, no one will ever use a lightwell in combat.
Adding talents that rely on a priest suffering a crit, is a talent that only shadow priests will take. Sticking it in the Disc. tree means that NO shadow priests will take it. Great job Blizz!
