World of Raids is at it again. Arena Season 3 started last night on the PTR and a new Arena vendor popped up in Area 52. WoR already has screenshots of the new PvP armor sets for every class and every talent spec with images from the Dressing Room as well.Every piece has +Resilience and has set bonuses for the same stat. Sprinkled through the armor (and the weapons/ranged slot items) are small enhancements to existing abilities for each class as well.
Head over to WoR and check it out, then let us know if you think Blizzard has made a class PvP set that works for you or is it totally off base. You can also check out all the latest Arena Season 3 news right here!

What is the add-on that calculates the effects of Resilience and Spell crit that the user is using?

I don't understand why the Mage 4 piece is less of a bonus to cast time than the Warlock one, considering they're both 1.5 sec casts and Polymorph actually HEALS the target.
Also, the Mage set looks like a traffic cone.

yeah still no prot PVP gear for warriors. So meh why exclude a vital part of the game from pvp by not giving us gear that benefits our attributes instead of some cookie cutter gear that is just for DPS and ignores stats a tank could use to help them PVP/arena. We do have a crapton of life and such....if its about living the longest I think we have that purty much handled. Why should we have to PVE for gear and not be able to also PVP.

I wish these guys would show these off on something better looking than an orc. You can barely see any of the detail expet the shoulders...
Still, loving the new Shaman set!

Why would you need prot gear for arenas?
Unless you're talking about PvPing for PvE gear, which isn't gonna happen anymore.

Because to pigeon hole a set of gear without allowing others that use other specs is wrong. I should be able to keep my current prot spec and have fun in arena and other areas. They should be able to make a set for prot that wont cross into pve but will allow us to use our given attributes(lots of stam/block/and such) to allow us to do both without making us take our PVE gear into arena which is unfair.

Why would anyone want a prot warrior on their team.

It's a little different in AV because there's plenty of NPCs to tank, and in EOTS, you can at least prove a big enough nuisance that they need to kill you to accomplish their goals by hanging out at the central flag and making sure nobody can take it until you're dead.
But sadly, for arenas, there's not much reason to bring a prot warrior. Mortal Strike or other max DPS builds are greatly favored for their usefulness. A Prot spec warrior in arenas is like an unkillable fly. Thunderclap is nice, they can still sunder their targets and disarm and hamstring, and the shield slam effect can be useful... but arenas are about fast kills, surgical crowd control, and (if you bring healers along) timely healing. The whole premise behind a protection warrior is that he only delays his own inevitable demise as long as he can and keeps the bad guys busy long enough for the rest of the team to do their thing. Players who know better will focus on squishier targets and just save you for last.

What are the comparable stats between this season and the previous season?
I know that paladins finally got their resilience (for the Ret set), but at the cost of a significant amount of strength, and they still kept in the Spell Damage, when they said they would try and stop their reliance on SP.
So, how's it like for the other classes?

PvP Prot? Are you joking?
If someone comes across a prot warrior in pvp, they just ignore him and kill everyone else. Prot warriors don't do damage, and they're hard to kill, so just leave em alone!
If someone actually made the mistake of trying to arena with a prot, the other team would be rolling around laughing. As it is, warriors are usually killed last anyways, even when they're arms and fury.
Why would you ask for prot arena gear when the arena doesn't even use prot warriors?!

It looks like Season 3 set did not see an increase to Resilience.

The warlock set looked sexy right...
I'm sure the artist was aiming for a neon buffalo?
The Priest/Hunter/Mage/Paladin sets all looked great though in my opinion :)
