Amanna posted a link to this extremely in-depth guide to the Eye of Shartuul event in Blade's Edge. If you've never done it (or heard of it-- seems like a majority of players might not actually know it exists), it's pretty cool. With the Ogri'la reputation chain, Blizzard introduced a solo quest series in Blade's Edge that can actually grant Epic gear.First things first, you've got to get Honored with Ogri'la, and then do the Banish the Demons quest, which allows you to get the items necessary to start the event itself. After that, you can pretty much follow Sadiki's guide-- he walks you through setting up the event, and all the different phases. The event itself is fun, too-- you abandon your own body, and instead fight through the even by controlling the demons. The final demon (which is actually pretty close in mechanics to C'thun in AQ) will actually drop Epic gear... kind of.
What he'll drop is "Depleted" gear, which you then have to activate with Apexis Shards. The Epic gear created isn't completely great, but there is one amazing piece-- the Depleted Badge drop turns into the Badge of Tenacity, which is so phat for tanking druids we'll have to feature it in an upcoming Phat Loot Phriday.
So yes, the event is some good solo fun, and though there's quite a bit of questing you have to do to set it up, getting Epic loot from a solo quest is always awesome, and following the great guide should make it easy.

Not to be a negative nelly but...technically...the badge isn't epic.

Only a few of the items are epic, most are blue. However, between the Badge of Tenacity - best Druid trinket in the game and the Crystalforged Sword (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32660) - one of the best Pally tank weapons, it's definitely worth doing when possible. They're fixing it next patch too, before you could go weeks without getting a Dark Rune.

The only thing I hate about this event is how utterly random the Shivan Assassin boss can be. Sometimes she'll stay in shadow/fire form the whole fight, and even if she gets a cast off, it barely damages me. If she ever goes into fire form, I basically have to use a crystal focus or I'm almost guaranteed to lose. Since both stuns have a 10 second cooldown, I've had times where both are on cooldown and the Assassin hits me with a Pyroblast, taking half my demon's health away.
Other than that, though, fun event.

Oops, meant to say shadow/frost forms are easy, not shadow/fire.

Tried it this morning for the first time. Lost before I got out of felguard phase :o
Sorted my bindings out properly (why are there big gaps in the action bar for this? :|) and got to Shartuul. Had him at 10% when I forgot to wipe debuffs and had a very sudden death.
Good fun though! The only problem with this event is, it takes so long to do that you get a rather large crowd building up around waiting for you to win/lose so they can have their shot.

Er, the last fight is nothing like C'thun. There's no beam of death. The eyes don't do anything unless you cause 1+ damage on them (Hint: Don't use frost nova, just shadow nova for an AOE). The last boss is all about timing shadow bolts to eat up syphon life every ~25-28 seconds, using ice block on incinerate, cleansing off immolate and grinding him down slowly.
To totally trivialize, just have a shaman in your group put grounding totem down. It doesn't die from damage and it eats every attack from Shartuul except immolate (meaning you can just stay in fire form and nuke).

I've had a problem recently (post 2.2) where the assasins deathblast won't heal for crud. You siphon life, chaos strike, and deathblast for 100k and get squat back! anyone else?
