The posting of auctions is a breeze now. When you open that tab, all items in your bags (sellable) show up in a list on the left, sorted after rarity. Just start posting them! *click* *click* and they're posted! Click the chunk of 220 [Mageweave Cloth], set your "per each"-price, move the slider to set your stack size, *click* all auctions are posted. As you move the silder, a window will tell you the total Bid/Buyout price of all your 220 Mageweave, as well as your deposit cost and AH cutaway if you sell.

Nifty, eh?

The short answer is "no". AuctioneerAdvanced has no use for the older auction data provided by Auctioneer 4. AuctioneerAdvanced keeps entirely different statistics to those provided by Auctioneer 4."

Ouch. They note that you can run both Auctioneers until you build up the DB for the new one, but still. That hurts.

Still my favorite addon.

So thankful for the reduction of memory usage. I will be testing that tonight to compare. Auctioneer right now is the largest memory hog of any addon I have and do use.

Rebuilding the database won't take too long really. It doesn't surprise me though that the database can't be used by the new version. My guess is that is where a lot of the new memory tweaks are.

eh, I think I'm gonna take a week or so off Auctioneering (to focus on grinding out my last few levels till 70) and only be on the AH to build up a new DB.

Every Ace-Addon that gets downloaded from the SVN (by using WowAceUpdater for example) which is not yet released is in a Demo/Testing state. So yeah, this is quite normal. (The AddOn LunarSphere even has a 8 Stage-Beta-Testing plan which is currently at stage 5 afaik, but that AddOn is bloated anyway)

heh, i use a way out of date version of auctioneer because i'm too lazy/scared of viruses to download a new one, but i think it will be time for an upgrade. I have a feeling an official release of auctioneer will be on wowinsider, so i'll just wait to see it here.

I think you need to go back and reread how it works. You still must do full scans if you want "complete" data like the old version. The point of the new stuff is it scans the stuff you browse, meaning you'll have up-to-date prices on the stuff you look at frequently if you don't do full scans.

And you still have to be at the AH to get prices, that will never change. We don't have access to the AH anywhere but at the NPCs, same as the banker and the mailbox... if we did you wouldn't need addons to "remember" the prices for you...

The new version also passively scans while you are looking at pages in the AH. So whatever you are looking at in AH gets updated in database. The Appraiser part is by far the best function allowing the very easy posting of multiple items.

Why can't Blizz make an online auction house available, with lots of rich tracking and reporting data along the lines of Auctioneer and more? Kind of like a WoW version of CBS Marketwatch or whatever. If we are allowed Auctioneer, wouldn't this be easier? Also, it could be a side-game you could play at work, posting items and buying and selling like a trader...

Downloaded it and checked it out over the weekend. Not bad, did seem to be less of a hog, and I can see a definite improvement over the old version. It isn't quite ready for steady use yet, imo, but when it releases I'll be upgrading asap.

Why would you use auctioneer which tells you the asking prices, not the REAL prices (scanned from emails) the item sells for like WoWecon.com addon.

Public beta?

This probably means that from now on, they'll start charging money for Auctioneer. Very few players are willing to pay for an addon that crashes its own database every other week anyway ... As a result, only hardcore freaks and the gold-selling mafia will use it, and the developers will go broke.
Goodbye auctioneer, it was good to've known yer.

yotix: Wish it were so, but nobody'd pay for it if we tried. You generally can't charge money for anything that's GPL because well basically anyone can take the code for free and do whatever the heck they like with it (including giving it away for free). One of the reasons we made it GPL in the first place.

Ezzy: Unfortunately wowecon charges money for their good stuff, but we're working on a stats module for AuctioneerAdvanced that will allow you to use wowecon data if it's installed also.

So I have not been using AADV for about a week now and I totaly happy with they way that it works. The reason why it does not "use" your old data is because it really does not need to. It uses the module Appraiser to give you an idea of what the market is doing for an item.

For example you might see Silk Cloth with numbers like these in the appraiser tab:
10/50/100/2

What this tells you is that the market looks like it's on the way up (based on what AADV has seen so far), where there are more people selling above market value then below it.

You can configure what the colors with "priceLevel" module, but the default is:

0 (Blue) > 0%
10 (green) > 50%
6 (Yellow) > 95%
100 (Orange) > 115%
2 (Red) > 130%

In other words there are 100 items that are 115% above the market price. So you could buyout the 16 items below market are re-sell at 110% for a profit.

Something else to note, if you are using Auctioneer 4.0 and AADV at the same time don't use auctioneer to scan the AH, use the slash command /aadv start or /aadv pause (/aadv help says to use /auc but I think that's a bug). it seems like there are some issues with the new scanning process but pausing it solves sometimes solves the issues.

Bottom Scanner (btmscnr) is fine since you have to click to purchase. The old mod bottom feeder is against TOS.
