There's always been an element of artistry to UI modification. Often it trends towards the functional, but every once in a while it's flat out beautiful to behold. Such is the case with Crow's Super Happy Yellow Butterfly User Interface of Doom and Inner Conflict (aka CSHYBUIODIC.)It reminds me of the first time I see a visually striking zone like Zangarmarsh or Moonglade. It's so lush and vibrant, it's a pleasure to look at. And she made a darker and brighter version.
Now, butterflies and pretty flowers may not be your gankalicious-pwnage -chucknorris cup of tea, but in a sea of sterile looking UI's this one stands out. You can see the entire screenshot linked in the artist's forum thread. She's not quite done with it and is looking for feedback.

Two words: Holy crap.
If it didn't have butterflies and all that, I'd totally download it.

wow. developers take note. you need to hire this person. aside from the personal choice in designs and colors (which i think stems from the creator making this for themselves), i find this absolutely stunning. hopefully crow is working in or has plans to be in the design feild of some kind... awesome.

You'd think a warlock would have bleeding hearts and flaming eyeballs all over her ui though.

THAT's a fine UI. It's not about cluttered buttons, but some art for a break.

The fullscreen shots are pretty nice. The tiny snippet chosen by the WoWInsider editor is really a poor representation of the entire interface. I prejudged is pretty instantly.

Er, that should say I prejudged *it pretty instantly, and unfairly. Hit return way too fast.

Unfortunately the download link at curse is down because the moderators are investigating it due to user reports... huh?
Will you wonderful people at WoWinsider keep an eye on this and let us know what's going on? :(

The best looking UI I have seen to date. Not functional for me, but very fine work by the crafter. She should be proud of her work.

Sorry if this ends up being a double post but I hit "Add" and nothing appeared.
This is the best UI I have seen yet. Not functional for me, so I wouldn't be downloading it, but damn fine work. I agree that Blizzard needs to consider her for a consulting job at the least.

I'd be all over that orange UI if not for the fact that the casting bar has butterflies. I can see my wife looking over my shoulder mid-Vashj, smacking the back of my head, and telling me I've been playing my Belf pally alt too much =/
Very cool though, I'd change a few things ... but I LOVE that chatbox mod. Yay, no more walls of text!

*nods* I finally got through to imageshack last night, but a mirror here would be nice.
The snippets in the shot above are the lower right corner of the screen - the blue one is taken in winterspring (that's their lovely lavendar snow you see behind it) and the yellow one in Silithus, I think - or somewhere sandy. I hope that helps - I really couldn't figure out what I was seeing before I got to the big shots.
The graphic bits are just beautiful. And the chat mod is very pretty indeed!
