Monde Persistants, a French Warcraft site, has released their full interview with Lead Designer Jeff Kaplan and Art Director Chris Robinson from last week's Leipzig Games Convention. Some of this information we already know, but there's quite a bit that was new to us. You can read the entire interview (in English!) and see the video at MP. Here's the summary of the new items:
- Part of the lore behind the Wrath of the Lich King expansion has Arthas trying to seduce players to the dark side, both Alliance and Horde.
- Part of the Death Knight lore will have them "break away" from the Lich King influence to be free agents, the way the Forsaken have broken away from being mindless undead.
- Death Knights will "probably" be able to inscribe any weapon with their Runes that give them power.
- Ulduar is going to be a new raid instance. It's controlled by storm giants and is a fortress of the Titans like Uldaman and Maruadon according to WoW lore.
- The Nerubians (spider guys) will host a few instances at the underground Azjol'Nerub.
- The Nexus will have a L70 5-man instance.
- The main boss in the CoT: Stratholme instance will be Mal'ganis.
- Possibly new daily quests introduced with the Sunwell Plateau patch (2.4?)

"The Nexus will have a L70 5-man instance"
Is that correct? Another 70? Why? It seems we have enough L70 5-mans right now, and will be getting more before WLK comes out.
I wonder if we'll actually be able to JOIN the Lich King if we choose to. I doubt it. It would be cool if we actually could though. Maybe we could get a new spell depending on which side we choose. Would also be a cool way to create a new player faction, but we're going to be KILLING the Lich King eventually, so maybe not.

I think some of these items, such as the Sunwell Plateau patch, pre-date the expansion. So I'm not surprised to hear about another L70 5-man instance being released, in the meantime.

Hellfire had 2 low level instances in its starting zone, Northrend has 1 low level instance in each of its starting zones. I don't see the problem.

I agree. Sounds logical to me...

@#1:
Remember that the gear you'll get from the WotLK level 70 dungeons will probably be better than anything you'll get in at least Kara, maybe even later raids. The current level 70 dungeons will soon go the way of Strat and Scholo.

It must've been "Obvious day at Camp Stupid" when they say " The main boss in the CoT: Stratholme instance will be Mal'ganis." I mean seriously, who else would it be? It goes right along with the Lore and WarcraftIII.
Maybe it is just me, but I want to hear about NEW Lore being itroduced not stuff we already knew. I don't mean I don't want the whole Stratholme instance, I think that is a great idea, I just mean news as to more about any new Lore they might be introducing.

I hate to be a downer, but we did know about the first two items on this list. They said something about it at the WotLK panel at BlizzCon. If you missed it, you can check it out at www.wcradio.com.

Wasn't mal'ganis killed in northrend? It's gonna be lore lol all over again (and again.. and again) if you end up killing him in the past too early. He's sorta the catalyst for arthas to get frostmourne.
