Why the hate for Gnomeregan and Uldaman? They're not required, and they drop pretty good loot for the level. It's easy to burn through them with any kind of competent team, a nice challenge but not too hard.

That said, they could use some sprucing up, ALL of the old instances could use some new material. I wish Gnomeregan especially could get morphed into some kind of true home for the gnomes instead of just an random lowbie instance with a great quest reward (Triprunner Dungarees ftw!)

Who knows, make the gnomes interesting enough, and I might even play one someday!

Gnomergan is actually a pain because the first half is fairly easy while the second half is kinda hard. By the time the second half is easy, you might as well go to Scarlet Monestary.

Gnomer BLOWS! I play a gnome mage and I got him all the way to 70 before I ever entered Gnomer. I went again with an alt recently, but brought a couple 70 friends with me to make things easier.

#3 makes a good point about SM being the best option for that lvl. (Blue Head Piece FTW)

I also like the idea of giving Gnomes a home city of our own! The smelly dwarves always look at us funny...it's obvious they dont want us there.

This leaves me undecided as to whether I should keep leveling my Mage and Lock alts... if they're gonna crank up the xp to make the later parts of leveling easier, I think I'd rather just quit playing them and exclusively farm on my main until they do this sorta thing. Unless it's not going to be affected enough to be able to level two alts from 40 -> 70 before the expansion hits... My goal is to have 4 70's (or at least 60ish) ready for the expansion so whatever class or profession becomes hideously overpowered I'll be THERE. (this time it was Alchemy, which was just absurd as far as being a money factory went, my friend made 10k in 2 months by being the only person making some of the alchemy stuff when guilds were starting raids..)

1-60 needs a lot more help than just jacking up exp from quests and/or mobs, but I'll take what I can get.

Allowing increased XP AND Rep gains for alts (once one has a max-level, exalted/revered (insert faction) character on the server) would be ideal.

It's fairly frustrating to level through the same mundane content over and over, and then have to grind the same faction reputations at max level. I know how to play my characters, I don't need to run Shadow Lab, Steam Vaults, Mechanar, Black Morass, and the Shattered Halls 9000 times to be ready for heroics or get a helm enchant.

I know in DAoC they implemented grinding dungeons for players who wanted a fast track to end game PvP. Basically, the dungeon is random, and tunes itself to your solo or mixed-level group adventure. In other words, if you enter the dungeon solo, the mobs will all con yellow, with an orange con boss at the end. If you go in with a group of mixed level players, the mobs will be an average of all your character levels. The dungeon entrance is right outside town, or it could be part of town, such as Stockades or RFC. The little bit I played of DAOC it seemed to work for me.

Yes, DrC, I can see your point of higher level characters yeilding more xp by doing lots of gray quests than doing a few green and yellows.

I agree with you, so I will not take you to task per se. I don't think they should nerf leveling, I think they should expand leveling options.

Alliance is mainly what I play so I will comment on that.

I want more options at the low to mid 20's Duskwood is a great option, but Darkshire to Raven Hill to Duskwood to Raven Hill to...you get the idea. Wetlands is an option as well, but the murlocs *shudder* I try to avoid murlocs at all cost. I'm sure there is an option on Kalimdor as well for those levels but I know EK better.

Level 70 should mean something. I totally agree that we should not have people getting to 70 in 2 months do to crazy buffed XP or game guides. That being said, giving more options/quests within the established zones would be a way to spruce up the game for those lower levels. (Especially for those of us with alt-itis) I have 8 alts =)

In closing...NERF LOCKS, BUFF MAGES!!!

I always get concerned by people begging for faster leveling, because all it does is assist folks with alts.

When you're a brand new player, leveling takes as long as it does. Giving more XP per kill or what not speeds it up, but without a previous character's leveling to compare it to, any speed increase is irrelevant.

Heres my point, and you can take this from what you will. The game itself has more content than any character can experience, but one character can go from zone to zone to zone and just like that, hes skipped content that he could have been seeing as per other races. It all becomes rep grind from that point. Players need incentive to think outside the leveling lines and not just sit there and do the same thing to get to 70 over and over again, and if they shorten the experience, you get to see even less of the content.

Alright, I'll add this -- on Non RP Servers, if you want to level-nerf, thats fine, but for those of us interested in lore, and experiencing content, dont do it. Its pointless for my lvl 70 BE Warlock to go into MC other than to experience content, and dont just give me some shiny new mount at the end of the run, or some epic whatever, make it relevant to the experience of my character?

I don't mind Gnomeregan, except that it's really easy to aggro everything in the instance. Uldaman, on the other hand, is a total mess of an instance. It's too long, too boring, and the level range from the front to the back is way to broad. I think there's like a 12 level spread in there.

Fixing Ulda would be easy. Make all beasts nonelite, reduce the amount of trogg pats, and normalize the mob level spread. the Dark Irons in front of the instance are 35-36, Archaedus himself is 50. Make Arch 40-42.

Gnomer is easy too. Reduce hp on nonelites, reduce the amount of elites in a pack, sink the aggro radius on Dark Irons, and have the alarm bots only summon one robo-ostrich.

On the subject of "reclaiming Gnomer". Why not clear out the first stretch before the actual instance? Eliminate the troggs until just before the instance door, and remove the leper gnomes around the Techbot encounter, and fill it with friendlies instead. Give us a repair NPC, a few engineer trainers, and some questgivers. Gnomer isn't a Metropolis, but a Holdout, and needs you to exchange messages to the Clean Zone.
