I'm a little compulsive about finishing every quest in a zone. Ok, ok, I'm certifiably compulsive about it. I love exploring all the various corners of a zone and learning their dangers and rewards. Because of this, I barely got through half of the Outlands solo content before I hit L70. After thoroughly enjoying Hellfire Peninsula, Zangarmarsh, Terokkar Forest and having just a taste of Nagrand and Blade's Edge, I hit the level cap. Why should I continue?
Starryknight of the Executus server has an excellent answer: completing every Outland quest and running through every dungeon will net you the 5,000 gold for your epic mount, gain the necessary reputation to access later parts of the game and get you keyed for both the Heroic dungeons and Karahzhan. Essentially, you will be ready to jump into the raiding game, if you so desire.
To achieve this, he wrote up a general guide on what to do in every Outland zone with links to more specific information about the quest chains for each area. For me, this is what I needed to push on and continue exploring the wonders that Warcraft still has to offer for people already at the level cap. Even if you don't intend to raid, the goal of buying an epic mount is reward enough. Check it out, it may be what you are looking for to refocus your goals in the game if you find your motivation has flagged.

I'll bet he wasn't a tailor/enchanter with a blacksmithing alt and a twink to fund all while running Kara...yeah - I may be doing the "every quest in every zone" thing, but I'll be darned if I have enough cash to save for anything - let alone an epic mount. All my money goes to professions, alts, and Kara consumables.

I hit 70 while halfway in Nagrand from soloing quests - no grinding. That left me Shadowmoon, Netherstorm and BEM to explore at my pace.

@2 if you need consumables for Kara, your group isnt doing you justice. Tell them to get geared up in some heroics the only consumable you should need is a few Mana Pots

Im a Tailor enchanter with full skill in both, and both my main and my alt (who are both running karazhan) have a epic flying mount, that was made by doing quests, selling quest rewards, and working the AH.

@2 I really only used a pot or two doing Kara, maybe at the beginning but you do not need much to do Kara if your raid geared up in the level 70 instances properly.

I started BC with 300 mining and enchanting and about 50g to my name. Hit 70 in the first few quests in BEM all without running an instance (Its hard to find PUGS on Muradin). I had already hit 375 Mining at this stage and I managed to collect enough gold from mining quests in BEM and Shadowmoon Valley to buy my epic mount. I farmed BEM for mining nodes for 2 weeks and dropped mining to level Blacksmithing and Enchanting both to 375 in a week, making enough gold to have left over after dinging 375 in both professions. I now dont play that toon, and he simply DEs and resells things on the AH. This toon has now got over 5k gold after 2 months of just playing the AH, and I still have all the quests in Netherstorm to go. Also, I have only stepped into instances for 20 runs max, as PUGs are so hard to come by. Moral of the story, the gold is out there. Stop whining and lern2farm / lern2playAH

@1: I leveled from 60-70 and played up to Curator in Kara as a tankadin. I'm not a cookie. No cookie-dough required.
@2: I had enough of tailor/enchanter on my 60 mage Annibel on Spirestone. Also, I have a blacksmithing alt (Blackstar on Executus). Please think up more excuses why you're poor. In my intro I cover the "tailoring/enchanting not recommended" angle. It increases the difficulty level, but if it was easy, everyone would be doing it. So suck it up, be a rock star and make it work.
