The next 10-man dungeon, Zul'Aman, is located in the Ghostlands. That makes it the first raid dungeon located in Horde/Alliance territory, which is raising some hackles on both sides on the WoW forums. Teallc wonders why there are so many instances in Horde territory already -- RFC, WC, SFK, RFK and RFD are all in Hordelands. The Alliance get Stockades, Gnomeregan and Deadmines. To get to Zul'Aman from, say, Shattrath City, the Alliance will have to port to Ironforge, take a lengthy gryphon ride to Lights Hope Chapel, and then run up into the Ghostlands -- leaving themselves vulnerable to attacks from Horde raid groups. Meanwhile, Horde just has to hop in the Silvermoon City portal and take a very short windrider trip to Tranquillien.
But Ucantseeme suggests that the new dungeon might cause headaches for lowbie Horde. The guards at Tranquillien are very low-level, so it would be pretty simple for bored Alliance raid groups to wipe out the town and prevent blood elves from turning in their quests.
I don't think this is really going to be that big of a deal. An instance entrance can't get any more horrible, PVP-wise, than Karazhan is, and I doubt that Alliance members are going to take time out to repeatedly camp questgivers. Plus, I wouldn't be surprised if they increased the level on the Ghostlands Guardians. As for Alliance having to fly a long way to get to the instance ... yeah, I have little sympathy there. After all the time I spent on zeppelins and windriders trying to get to Blackrock Mountain while you guys were just hopping over from your convenient capital cities, it'll be nice to see you desperately trying to make the raid line-up for once.
What's your opinion on raid dungeons in non-contested areas?

It can't get any worse than kharazan can??
Wow...you've GOT to be a hordy!
Horde love to camp that entrance just to be pests. And now, alliance raiders won't even be able to fight the horde until they get the jump on us first!!!!
Fuck you, Blizz, and your horde pvp loving asses!

btw...you forgot that SM library, armory, and cathedral is also in horde territory and how much grief horde causes for alliance that try to go there.
NO raid should EVER be put in a non contested territory. It's just BULL SHIT.

But when you think about it lore wise it makes sense. RFC, WC, RFK, RFD, SFK are all based on creatures based off horde lands. eg* RFK, RFD are all those boar humanoids which inhabit barrens. That would not fit well in Alliance or neutral lands. SM is also in a good place to the undead, forsaken and plague and so forth. Plus say RFK and RFD are not that far for alliance. They just go to theramore and walk to barrens. Horde also have a long walk from camp T to the instances.
But really the Alliance instances in comparison are much futher for horde. Deadmines and Gnomer (if not for the transport from booty bay) would be almost impossible for horde to get to at the instance level.

The Horde have some huge advantages when it comes to instance location, base location and flight paths/points.
And the Alliance as well have some huge advantages when it comes to instance location, base location and flight paths/points.
If Blizz tried to make this game equal every single time for every single thing, it would suck.

I'm Alliance and I play on a pvp server that's well known for being VERY pvp oriented, even compared to other pvp servers. Nonetheless, I don't think having ZA in Horde territory is that big of a deal. It is annoying to get attacked repeatedly when trying to summon...so I'm not looking forward to more of that. But it's not the end of the world. Everyone should relax imo. =)

Don't like it, don't flag. If you're still on a PvP server this long after the game came out you have no right to be complaining about PvP. You've had plenty of time to know what it's like and move servers accordingly.

Wait... wait... wait for it... Alright
If the game was exactly balanced as people who complain about specific things obviously want, then it would just be a coin flip. a never ending series of coin flips. Save your 15 dollars and just get a quarter if thats how you want to play. Heads you win, tails you lose.
Also... Blackrock mountain... Thats actual instances that somewhat matter. And its just a hop skip and a jump away from an alliance town.
Karazhan... level 70 instance just outside of a lowbie Alliance village, hasn't caused too many problems.
Also, if you don't like pvp, then transfer... it's only 25$. There are lots of guilds recruiting all the time on PVE servers.

The only issue as Alliance on a PVP server is that our raid is auto flagged when we walk in, while horde raids can happily summon/mill around the door with no chance of being attacked. Then once the numbers are in their favor ..... Nice work on the devs part thinking this through.
Make the immediate zone around the door contested imo.

Just add a freaking portal room similiar to the capital city portals in Shatrath. Each faction could have a portal tot he entrance of raid instances.
Boom! Portal right to the front door and step inside.
No Griefing to worry about.
Blizz could add plenty of portals tot he game with out breaking the mechanics of the game... Even my lvl 10 Drood is bound to the Scryer inn in Shatrath to make use of the persistant portals there.
Traveling is the biggest pain in this game!
Give us an express lane Blizz!

Sure, make it that easy, and while we're at it, remove all flight paths, just add portals to every zone in the game. We'll just play Star Trek Online, where we'll go everywhere solely by Portals. God forbid we use the Summoning Stones that have worked so well for the past 3 years.

Is this sarcasm? Because the summoning stones haven't worked very well until recently =\

And the Shatt portals have been around a lot shorter than the proper summoning stones.
