You don't need to level up to buy them. They're BoE, no level requirement, and the soap on a rope is pretty cheap.

All you need is a Mage to open a portal to Shattrah City for you. You can't use the Dark Portal until 58, but you can use a Mage Portal at any level. Shattrah has a bunch of portals, so you can even get back easily. :)

Some people did fall for this, but Blizzard's moving him now seems to be more of a story line then reaction to complaints.

You don't have to level up quickly to get the soap; you just need to get a mage to port you to the city. Once there, you can easily browse Griftah's goods without hazarding the dangers of Outland.

Anyone ever heard of the term "buyer beware"??? Honestly, if you were dumb enough to purchase..........

Let me see if I've got this straight: Blizzard has no problem with pvp'ers tagging your event mob; but some morons get swindled because they didn't participate in hooked on phonics and suddenly an entertaining npc gets moved. (And I don't buy for one MINUTE that he's being moved not because of player complaints, but some grand scheme which had been in the works.)

Griftah was simply enforcing a tax on stupidity. If you bought any of his items expecting them to do something special, you were paying a tax for being stupid. WoW needs more taxes like this to help take money out of the economy and reduce inflation.

I agree #9, I also would like more taxes on stupidity. Such as the bonfires people like to stand in to make annoying noises should do insane amounts of damage. Beggars in capitals cities should be able to be flagged for same faction PvP, similar to reporting gold spammers.

I think they should put Griftah outside so that we can kill him over and over again. But still let him peddle his wares.

I don't really think that moving Griftah is going to solve anything.

If they really want to take pity on the people stupid enough to fall for this harmless joke, they could always make it so you can sell these items back to Griftah at full price, or just drastically lower his prices so it's not such a big deal if someone loses money to him.

But really, I'm all in favor of just letting Natural Selection work its magic. We shouldn't have to change ANYTHING in life to save stupid people from themselves.

How about they evict the Leatherworking supplier instead? That dude is constantly screaming and smashing the fruit vendor's wares. Poor Griftah, I'll miss him yelling at me to but trinkets.

As the blue poster stated in the link above, if it was due to play complains he would have just been removed. What's going on here is a STORY... we get a new chapter it it every few patches.

I love that the ogre is (was?) still talking to him even though he wasn't there.

I think Griftah is a harmless bit of coolness in the lower city. Only an idiot would be taken in by a white item (not blue or purple, white) that claimed to do things that the game obviously already does.

The only question is, why are Griftah's items white? Shouldn't they be gray? The color scheme is that items that can be used in tradeskills (or weapons of normal utility) would be white and other items would be gray.

But Griftah's items are apparently useless. To qualify as white, they should be either usable in a tradeskill, or do the same amount of damage as a normal-quality weapon would of that level and type.

So they should be gray, not white items.

They're amulets and off-hands. They have the default level of armor and stats for a white item of their level, which is none.

I'm -really- looking forward to seeing what happens to the poor guy.

I will miss hearing Griftah's banter when I'm at the mana loom making cloth. I can't say I'm surprised that Blizz is capitulating to the naive few who were dissatisfied with their purchases from Griftah. Who's next? The fruit vendor?

Tax?

Hmmm...

The only "tax" I'd add to the game would be a new level cap of 75, but upon reaching 75 the character would be killable (ie..no coming back).

Now, that's something that would help the economy. A bunch of dead dedicated players, forced to start over from 1.
