Warlocks rejoice, or at least I am rejoicing for the possibility of a new flying mount for my Warlock. Palm over at Worldofraids sent us some additional information about what is loaded into Patch 2.2, and although armor and weapons are always interesting to me, I was totally giddy when I saw the above image.
I would love to be able to say that this means that there will be a warlock-specific flying mount, but I actually doubt it. These days the trends more towards cool mounts like these being drops from instances, available to anyone. In a way the ability to fly away a la Harry Potter would be just as cool if it were available for anyone, I just hold on to the idea of Paladin and Warlock specific flying mounts tightly. Like death-grip tightly. If druids can have flight form, I don't see why locks and pallies can't have a quested flying mount. It only makes sense since they quest for their epic mounts.
Until further evidence comes to light keeping my hope alive, I will keep my eye out for more info on the Broom Mount. Perhaps that Grynfinndor guild you've been thinking about creating will now be able to soar through the skies in Quidditch formations soon.

I bet it'll be part of the Halloween event, like the Reindeer Mount. I would expect it to have similar restrictions, though. Flying brooms have never really been a part of WC lore, since there aren't really any witches (besides witchdoctors).

I would think that a broom flying mount would go to mages rather than warlocks. A broom just doesn't seem dark and demonic enough to be a warlock mount.

Agreed, Mages sound like a better class for this to suit.
I wanna start seeing other class specific mounts too, like some sort fo crazy war horse for warriors only (even though there are some war horses already)

If this is class-specific, I can imagine a lot of re-rolling just to ride on it.
If it's Halloween specific...dammit!
They already have automated brooms in the belf zones, why not flying ones?

BS!!!! Thats ridiculous! Why the hell they giving locks a damn broom (if they are) and meanwhile hunters who can tame friggin beasts cant tame our own. Not to mention nerfed, nerfed, nerfed.... GRRRRRRRR... Its offical that blizz's lead designer's wife is a lock, and his ex is a hunter.

Is it just me (and I'm a huge HP fan) the first thing I thought when I saw this was 'what a cool drop from the Crone during the Oz event'. That makes it more like Attumen's steed, Baron's mount or the ZG or A'lar mounts. That seems more logical than the class-specific stuff - too many people would be upset if something like this was limited.
Now, if I could just get that granny outfit from the Big Bad Wolf...

@4 Yes there is a whole another world besides WoW; however, Blizzards verison of a Warlock is more likely to be playing with demons than enchanted brooms.
Speaking of enchanted brooms, maybe it is created from an enchanting forumla! Go farm a [Farmer's Broom], collect random enchanting mats and voilia! Make it BoE and everyone is happy.

Now this would be interesting.... Tame your own mounts? Even FLYING mounts? :O
Only thing more awesome would be having it your pet too when you dismount or get knocked off.

@8 It's people like you who should stop playing...Hunters are quite good, learn to play your class.
As others have said, it's likely to be a Halloween event item, and isn't nearly evil enough to be a class-specfic lock mount. A shade, gargoyle, or a frost wrym would be awesome.

You could almost have a real Quiditch match going if people pick up those heavy leather balls and start tossing them to each other, lol.

I would like to see the quested flying mount in the game for warlocks and pallies. I don't care if warlocks have to ride bitch behind a real witch on a broom and pallies have to saddle up a fat cherubim with tiny wings.... i'd LOVE to have a clas-specific flying mount.

Now I could be wrong, but to me a broomstick mount screams arcane magic. Who are the masters of arcane magic, well mages of course? The mage class has needed some loving from the developers for a long time, and even though it's just a fancy mount. I'd love to have one on my mage.
