Around Azeroth: It's all in the braids
Reader Whiskerwing sent in an entire gallery of screenshots, but out of all of them, I chose this one to post. Why? I just love the way the Dwarf braids fly up when casting spells. It's a minor detail, to be sure, but it's a detail I haven't noticed in any other race.

I am SO mad that I didn't make a dwarf from the outset. When WoW beta opened, my guildmates had been harrassing me for some time for having made very short/small characters in the last several online and offline games we played, so I went against my inner wishes and made a taller character. Not only did I miss getting better racials than the ones I ended up with, but I missed the whole braid thing! BAH!

It happens with the Humans as well. My Draenei Shaman has the pig tails, but I haven't noticed them floating in the casting wind.

That's impossible! A Dwarf female? Those don't exist in WoW.

Oh and my Dwarf Male's hair flies up too, his short ponytail anyways. At least it does when he's hearthing.

@3 "it's true you don't see many dwarf women. And in fact, they're so alike us in voice and appearance that they're often mistaken for dwarf men."

Either way, verbatim? L2Tolkien? If this were LotRInsider, maybe. I still remember Aragorn pantomiming a goatee motion as he said it. Extended Edition DVDs, I have the trilogy somewhere.

@11
I thought those were extinct and to make new orcs they just split like mitosis rather than copulate with the "female" orcs.

Yeah I'm pretty envious. My dwarf priestess only has a regular haircut. I love the twisting braids and wish they had an option to change hairstyles.
