I would probably have to put shaman and rogue on the two worst to group together. Neither can truely tank very effectively. I'm not saying it's not doable but if you had to pick the two worst that's what I would choose. even if you try to kite with an earthbind totem or poisons neither is really effective at taking on what two other classes together could do.

My 2v2 rankings over a few weeks

Feral Druid and warlock - 1250 to 1700
Feral Druid And Rouge - 1700 to 1325
Rouge and Mage - 1325 to 1625
Mage and Warlock - 1625 to 1600
Feral Druid and Mage - 1600 to 1750
Feral Druid and Rouge - 1750 to 1225
Roouge and Warlock - 1225 to 1525

think its pretty obvious which is the worst combo... Feral druid and rouge are horrible 2v2 together haha. That team was such a seesaw, lol

if your talking about arena...
best: 2 40/0/21 holy/ret pallies, they can burst a person down in less than 2 seconds, whle both being immune to EVERYTHING, and the other one has no hope, since they can both heal enormous amounts of damage, and deal quite a bit with 600+ spell damage

worst: 2 warriors, no healing, not GREAT damage, and limited CC

Leveling... it doesnt really make much of a difference, since most things can be soloed as one class, but i would think a melee/caster or dps/healer combo would work best. If you can get to 35, 2 paladins, or a paladin/preist is absurd, since u could pull an entire zone nearly and come out relativley unharmed.

The fact that you're leveling together with -anyone at all- makes everything immensely faster and easier. If you're planning on doing lots of instances, two classes that fill the same role might make things a little harder. I don't think that arena ratings necessarily say much at all about how well two classes do together while leveling; arena has a lot of idiosyncrasies. Except perhaps for hybrids, two of the same class is probably worse than any pair of dissimilar classes. I'd also avoid choosing two classes that wear the same armor or are likely to use the same weapons, so that when you do instances you're not competing with each other for gear.

Feral druid & shadow priest has been deadly for me in the past in terms of clawing (sorry) through PvE. Lots of damage output, and each has the ability to heal in some fashion.

For leveling? I don't think there is an absolute worst class pairing. There are some class/spec pairings that are less useful than others, but there is no two classes that can't work together effectively.

If you go the same class, go with different specs. If you go with different classes try to go with ones that won't compete for gear. Other than that, go with what you want to play.

Rogue and a Hunter during PVE.

I hated playing a Rogue a Hunter. I would try to get behind the mob, but because of the pets growl it would flip around and face me. I would then move behind it from that side and then the Hunter would overshoot and pull aggro and once again I was NOT behind the MOB.

Very frustrating.

For two *different* classes that don't work well together regardless of spec, my guesses would be:

- shaman + priest
- warrior + rogue

(It's ROGUE, damn it! R - O - G - U - E. Pet peeve.)

Warriors and rogues don't really help each other out much. Crowd controls like Sap that put "don't touch this" tags on mobs are the bane of at least one warrior's existence. Neither of them has any healing outside of food and first aid. Neither of them really buffs the other one outside of Battle Shout.

Shamans and priests aren't that good a combo either. At least until they level up quite a bit, shaman CC is just slows, and priest CC involves sending all of the mobs running crazy-wise and Ghod only knows what they'll aggro. Shaman buffs are largely melee oriented, especially at the lower levels. And, in this combo, the shaman will be in melee most of the time, putting spells out of reach, and using the meager tools they have to try to hold aggro against the priest.

Best combo for levelling in PvE? IMO it's shaman + warrior. The warrior gets a lot of value out of shaman buffs, holds aggro, and the shaman's heals, though not as valuable as other healing classes' at lower levels, are enough to pull the warrior through.

apparently you have never seen Fat cow and the Pro which can be seen at warcraftmovies.com. Its a arena PVP video with both aspects of the druid and mage. But, personally the worst 2v2 team is 2 warriors. Or a warrior and a retri-pally that thinks hes a warrior and doesn't heal.

Burst casters and Dot based classes aren't the best. For instance my fire mage and a afflic warlock are a terrible combination. My mage kills things before they get to me, and my afflic buddy wants to kill over the course of his DoTs. A shadow priest is also a bad combo with a fire mage.

Mage + warlock = bad
Fire mage + warlock = really bad

Hunter + warrior: is a pain since the hunter always tends to pull aggro or has it's pet taunt always on. No damage taken = no rage for the warrior.


Best combo in my opinion if you like to do instances is a warrior and a priest. Both can spec for DPS while still being able to tank/heal the instance (as long as they have decent gear). Also all they would need to get an instance is 3 dps classes... Trust me, that's not hard to find.

Shadow Priest and Rogue, and me as the rogue was my favorite. I never had a problem killing mobs but I had issues keeping my health up, every other mob and I was bandaging. Made questing in WPL easy.

I hadn't had opportunity to test it in a while, but EVERY party I've ever had with a ret paladin while playing my Shadow Priest has sucked "rocky mountain oysters"

just to grind up to 70 and level up without any sort of instances...warlock + shadow priest

even though no tank, theres still so much DPS there to 2 shot the mob that no one is worried
